She's gorgeous mate.

I'll try to put a puppy picture up of Ronnie for you. I don't know how to do it so it may take a while.

Ronnie at 7 weeks old with his favourite teddy bear.

The bear is about 40cm long to give you an idea of scale.

At 14 weeks after his first bath. He wasn't happy.

I'll sort a few others out later. I hadn't looked at these for ages but I'm glad I had the excuse. It's made my day.

Great photos mate!  Billie needs a bath she stinks but obviously have to wait until shes abit older!  I'm trying to get her used to her new collar and lead before she can go out for walks.  She hates it but soon I'm sure she will love it when she knows she is going to the park etc!

Did you keep a collar on ronnie all the time?

gotta love the puppie pics

had to laugh today when we went sledging, coming back and we saw a fast movement in the snow then out pops this little jack russle all covered in the white stuff,

another thing we saw was a dog that kept burying its head in the snow as if it was looking for something or was it just smellling other dogs pee?

Might've been looking for a snowball.

I've been throwing them for Ronnie today but he's struggling to find them for some reason.

Did you keep a collar on ronnie all the time?

When he was a pup I kept his collar on all the time while I was with him. They can be dangerous though so best to take it off when unsupervised.

I also used to put his collar and lead on and leave them on for a few hours so that he got used to them. They never like it at first but once they realise it's not coming off they soon forget about it and it becomes the norm.

If I were you I'd put her collar on at all times while you're with her. When she's used to it take it off or leave it as you prefer.

I was told not to associate the lead and collar solely with walks, going out and excitement. You don't really want her to start bouncing around as soon as you pick her lead up.

It can help to just randomly pick her lead and collar up and take it to another room or even just put it back down. That way she won't get overexcited just because you want to move her lead somewhere.

Cheers that all makes sense.  I've been trying to put it on and take it off over the weekend but havent done it nearly enough.  She is getting better though, at the moment she is having a kip before we go to the vets!

Quick question do you have any tips to discourage her jumping up.  We were trying to correct her all the time but it has lost its meaning and she thought we were playing, this is difficult because she went through a fase of ignoring my verbal corrections.  Before she responded really well to the correction so dont want to confuse her and make her think the correction is some kind of reward!  Dont know if this makes sense!?

Jumping up is a really difficult one. I used to have big problems with that and it needs stopping quickly.

The way we cured Ronnie was by using his verbal command with a squirt of water in the face. It sounds harsh but they soon get the message.

An empty ketchup bottle full of water is perfect.

Whilst Billie's still a pup though you might be able to cure this just by ignoring her. If she jumps just turn away from her and pretend she's not there. No matter how much she persists just keep ignoring her. Don't even look at her. Make sure you're not stressed as well. Just pick a spot outside somewhere and just look at that and pretend the dog isn't there. When she gets bored and goes and lies down tell her she's a good girl. Wait a couple of minutes (10 minutes if she was older) then call her over for a fuss. She then relates being quiet with attention rather than jumping up at you. It's also a good recall lesson because she comes when called and gets fuss. Easy. (If only it was!!)

At the moment the jumping is just attention seeking. If you let it get out of hand (like I did) it becomes a dominance thing so get it stopped now.

Cheers mate, the old ignore trick is the one we have been using just need to keep working at it, I like the idea of squirting water as she is at times ignoring our 'stop command' when she is really excited.
