In this satellite the option to buy it was given to the person who bubbled - this seems fair, but I think it would also be fair (and simpler) if it just went in the general pool to be available to the clickfest.

Or it's offered for sale to the last person he knocked out.......?

That seems too random to me.

The person who bubbles has shown some skill to get to the bubble, the last person he knocked out might have been sitting out for 2 hours before losing his 1 big blind in a forced all in.

You could switch that around as well, Jon - the person who bubbled could have been sitting out for an hour, and the individual that was knocked out could have shown some skill in getting as far as he did.

No matter, Des will make the decision.

I do agree with an earlier post though, no one who has won a seat via a satellite should be allowed to enter a further satellite to the same comp.

Des will be making sure it doesn't happen again (the player with a seat playing in another sat - not the site going down!).

Unlike other sats, these sats aren't for 'APAT Nationals' - they are for a specific APAT National.  Many people don't play them because they can't afford the buy-in, they play the sats to ensure they get a seat.  No matter how much money you have, it won't guarantee you a seat via the clickfest.

If this bloke wanted to win a seat for his missus, why didn't he just play on her account for her?  No one would have known, and all would have been dandy.  Instead, he was playing for fun - at the expense of others really.  Towards the bubble of a satellite you generally clam up - avoid unnecessary risks.  Most people do, but he didn't have to do this, did he?  He wasn't playing for a seat - but for a prize of £100 (or thereabouts).  I'm sure it's not a lot to him, and not as much as a seat is worth to those trying to win one.

People were saying that if he hadn't played then there would have only been 13 seats, and not 14.  This is actually true, but it would have meant that the person who bubbled for the seat would have won enough cash to buy-in (provided they could negotiate the clickfest). Instead they won $5 and now have the option of paying £75 for the seat.  This might suit them, or maybe £75 is too much of a buy-in for their roll and they needed to sat in to play?  The bloke who already had a seat added $15 to the prize-pool (one rebuy and one add-on I think).

Try telling Bodders who was outdrawn not too far from the seats by this player (AK v AT all-in pre) that him playing didn't matter.

I was obviously gutted to lose that hand just 4 places away from a seat, but tbh when the cards were turned over I was very happy indeed.

Agree though a rule needs to be put in place to stop this happening again. Otherwise you could have more than one person who has already got a seat playing.

I wear going to play in the Sat's to win a seat and then sell it (if i had won one) as i am not going. But that is not the APAT way so did not bother. People who do this should be warned and then band if they should do it again (one strike and your out )

I think on the night Des handled it very well and that it is right the guy that bubbled got an option on the seat.

As Daniel says the guy who bubbled would had mattblue not played won enough money to cover the buy in but now still has to fork out the full £75 to play

(Notwithstanding the fact had mattblue not played of course then hands would have been different, cards dealt different, results different and no doubt different people making the seats!! - maybe EVEN yappari the early chip leader!!)

as a low middle stack player on the bubble last night not only had I got the misses wanting to discuss something important but had both tables open and the apat forum open to keep up with the latest decision!!!
