My image is nitty, 14/10 over 200 hands or so. Grudev is a solid player, playing very loose aggressive atm 36/32/4 in an attempt to fleece the donkey at the table 242424 number guy who is playing loose passive, making small bets and being smashed about by the table. Given i had nfd i want fish in, hows my turn line?

Why not isolate the fish pre? I know we oop but a10o is a pretty good hand and hopefully we lose grudev who we also have to play oop to.

Flop i am fine with but having a single spade in the hand does mean our implied odds are less than with 2 suits, so keeping the fish in is less profitable no?

Turn is a bit funky but i quite like it, as we are assuming Grudev can make this squeeze with a wide range given table dynamics and therefore we have some fold equity and of course the back up of holding a nut draw.

Interesting hand.

I like the turn raise, as it looks scary as hell and will fold out 2pr / pr + draw type hands alot of the time I would think... obv if you get called you got outs with gutshot aswell as the fd...

Out of interest you stack off if he shoves?

I actually like your turn line. This huge squeeze overraise from Grudev looks rather weak. Deciphering what it could mean is important though. Looks like it could be a single pair/high flush draw combo, low 2 pair? Straight is unlikely? Only hand I'm perhaps worried about that looks possible is something like 23ss. I'm assuming he'd raise any possible sets preflop?

Your raise is very strong, especially as you're committing yourself to the hand (I'm assuming you call a shove getting 3 to 1? Have the odds against everthing but a made flush). Looks like you have a flush. Looks stronger than a jam.

I think it depends on what you think he might pass. If he's capable of passing 2 pair, 45 or KsQx I think it's a good move.

I'm not overly keen on the turn line. I think the big raise signifies a made a hand, and one that will probably put you all in.

But Alex's raise surely signifies the same? Are you thinking of flatting to see what develops? Surely that puts our hand face up and ruins any action on the river if we hit?

Alex could easily be protecting a small made flush or possibly a straight.

It's impossible for oppo to shove without a very strong hand as he has no FE at all. He knows that it's costing him $350 to get to the river so his pot odds aren't that good.

If he shoves it's costing Alex $220 to win about $770 which with 9 nut outs and a couple of gut shots for good measure has got to be a good thing.

Nightmare scenario is if 1 or both flat and we miss. I think that would be a nice move by Grudev although it's easy to say knowing Alex's hand.

For him to make that play, I think his range is limited, and leaning heavily towards a flush or straight. I can't see him not sticking it in with these hands, which obviously isn't good for Alex who just has the draw. He may even shove with a set, if he has an aggro reputation and believes Alex's range is wider as a result. I don't understand your penultimate sentence - just because you're in a position where you have good pot odds if someone sticks you all in doesn't make it a good thing. Great if the dude folds, but I don't feel it happens often enough. I don't play $2.50/$5 though, so maybe they play differently and would fold a greater percentage of the time.

Alex does give reads in the op, that grudev is a good lag player who no doubt reads the game well. We have a loose passive donkey who is repping a weak hand with his bets and Alex is playing like a total nit is repping no strength. In this spot Grudev range is a lot wider than normal imo.

this was my reasoning. The presence of the fish in the hand and the bet-sizes allow grudev to get out of line, but i can use a tight image to blow him off 2 pair/straight. worked anyway Smiley weeeee. Grudev timebank folded fwiw, obv its a bit sick if he shoves but i cant fold.
