What can I do?

i read the PT thread with a slow shaking of my head - the £7k is a Trade Debt and Blonde will be ranked a long way down the list as an unsecured creditor. I'm no expert on Maltese financial law, but I doubt it's much different from the UK where the appointed Administrator/Receiver get's the first bite, HMG get second and then come all the institutions that have a charge on property/debts etc.
The likelihood that this operation will have sufficient resource to make a distribution down to the unsecured level seems pretty thin to me. I doubt they have any assets beyond a notional 'value' in the name Poker Trillion (if I could use [ ]'s I'd do one to indicate the likely value of that. The only other thing of value they held was the ID of the players, and that seems to be tied up with the site operator.
Bad Debts are a fact of life for all businesses in the current economic climate. Royal Bank of Scotland provided evidence of this recently. For a small business, not likely to be bailed out by messrs Brown and Darling, the hit from a £7k bad debt is severe and I can sympathise with the directors who are having to make tough decisions right now.
But it seems to me that Blonde is not just a business, it is also a community. I have benefitted from my small position on the outskirts of that community and I would be pleased to support it in some way.
so, as a small stakes poker player whose rake is measured in terms of how many beers it might buy rather than how many cars, what can i do to support Blonde?
Are there ways in which we can boost the income to Blonde from those advertisers/sponsors who
are
paying?
What can we do?
(please don't ask for money, my own business has suffered from bad debts recently, and I have shares in the Royal Bank of Scotland

Great post, and echoes the thoughts of so many blondes.
Playing a bit on blondes cardroom is the easiest way to help out ... so just carry on with what you are doing David, your support and that of everyone is much appreciated and very much needed.
Cheers & Good luck.

thank you David
Whether it is playing on our card-room, and/or supporting our partners via clicking on banners for Sky Poker, Ladbrokes and a new name or two coming next week, and then playing there via that link any support is most welcome

You'll probably avoid answering this, but out of say $1 of rake a player generates how much does blonde
actually
get?
take $0.30 off for the 'loyalty scheme', leaves $0.70, so I guess $0.20-$0.25?

there are a number of variable charges, for example chargebacks (Mr X deposits on a card, loses the deposit and then claims the card has been used by someone else and the card is re-credited for example) as wella s you imply all the fixed carges for payment processing, anti collusion etc etc
Your figure isn't too far off, a bit low we hope

Are the bashes +ev or -ev for blonde? If the former, great, when's the next one? If the latter, why? I don't recall seeing mention of an event fee charged, but I can't see many people objecting to that. I'd love to come to one (relative newbie and couldn't make the DTD one, even though it's fairly local), and by all accounts there is a reasonable amount of cash sloshing about.
Meanwhile, I'll try and play on blonde more. Can't play the league game tonight unfortunately.
It's funny, I regularly contribute to 2 other forums besides this one, both non-commercial ones, but the sense of community on this one is huge in comparison.
And now I just feel really guilty for being up on the blackjack

Massively +ve for the community, great fun and friendships made
Very modest -ve for costs, and we've never charged fees to attend etc, never would. At the moment even small costs are tricky to incur.
We hope to do one later in the year, though its tougher and tougher to get a free date on the poker calendar

Blonde download triggered a virus warning from nod32?
I guess it's ok, but is this a known issue?
I suspect that my playing (swimming?) on blonde is going to generate more income for other players than it will for blonde, but if I can resolve the download issue I'll give it a go.
i won't be playing as david3103 though

yes a rogue skin did some bad stuff/malware a while ago, and triggered the NOD32 alert
the reasons for this have been solved and the network explained to the virus alert system what and why, but the warning hasn't been removed yet
