I had a night in with the family last night and was keeping an eye on the updates every now and then. There was no way I was going to play an online game though. I understand that we need to support
DTD with this but I am sure there were many others in my boat last night.
Great updates though and gave an awesome showcase for the superb venue that is
DTD.
I am sure people will attend DTD as a result of reading the updates alone.Well, let's hope so. I do think we need to, in some way, acknowledge that
DTD have funded this Update, supported blonde since they began (as we have them, too), & they are "more likely" to continue to fund the
DTD Updates if they can see some tangible return of at least part of the Cost - be it via Online Tourney participation, more runners at the Venue, or whatever.
This is not - not at all - a sort of "shame on us" view - I'm just being realistic. We can't expect
DTD to fund them if they get nil return from the investment. But maybe they have got a return, in general profile-raising, I don't know. I hope so.
I run
Nick Whiten last night to express my disappointment that we'd only mustered 15 runners for his Online Tourney. He seemed OK about it, though I'm sure I sensed his disappointment. I shall e-Mail Nick & Rob tomorrow, when I have been able to assess the situation more clearly. I'm a bit disracted by APAT & In-Poker stuff this weekend.
Still, 350 runners for the £300, including half the field who had never been to
DTD before - that was something, eh? They really deserved that success.
