All the necessary approvals from Rank Head Office, & Grosvenor, have been received, so our next Live Update will be the £1,500 Main Event at Walsall, "The Midland Masters", on Saturday & Sunday.

I am planning - albeit maybe only briefly - to play this event, so we will have a new Updater assisting Jen, who will be in the chair.

The new man will be none other than snoops - our very own snoop doggy dog.

It's not as easy as you may think, in fact it's quite stressful, & very hard work, too. But I know you will give snoops your support. This time......

And if he makes a success of it, & don't forget we have Chili lined up as a potential Live Updater for the future, maybe the 'ol fella can at last retire. Not before time, I hear yiou all chorus......

I won't be playing the main event at Walsall tomorrow, I'm on a bad run at the moment, both live and online. My bankroll has taken quite a battering and is begging for mercy

Good luck to all the blondes, be they players, updaters, or old codgers trying to do both

ifm.

Who, ME? You jest, surely. Jen is THE best, imo. But it's very kind of you to say what you said. as I'm a little older, & some would say uglier, than Jen, I have the ability to be just a bit more "cheeky" than Jen, she's WAY too nice to say some of the things I say. I DO think Jen & I have a good "balance", we sort of feed off each oher quite well, a contrast in styles that, I think, works OK. She's a bit weird - she does not usually work well as part of a Team, but, oddly, she & I work OK together. I pretty much let her "lead", & that seems to work. Lately, I have left her to do most of the factual reporting, whilst I try & do the scene setting & photos.

We think we need a team of at least 3 Live Updaters, & I intend to remain as a member of the blonde Live Update Team for the foreseeable future. But I also want to be able to play some Main Events - I have missed most of them this year due to Live Updating - so I do need some spare capacity.

We have pretty much decided to miss the Caribbean Poker Classic, simply because Jen & I  are knackered, we've been away just about every week for ages now. Dublin, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, da de da de da. Great fun - GREAT fun - but exhausting too. So we need to grow the Team.

Snoops will be very good at it, I'm quite sure. And for his debut, I've deliberately selected Walsall, as he knows most of the regulars, which  Jen & I struggle with.

I am sure you will be supportive of him. He's frightened (a bit), excited (a lot), but more than capable. The lad has hidden talents, in my opinion.

as a matter of interest, if anyone would like to make suggestions as to how we improve our Live Updates, fire away. Constructive criticism always welcome in this place.

Please EXCLUDE from suggestion the most obvious one - that we mprove the software, to stop it keep bloody falling over when the traffic gets really high. We are working on that already, & have been for, it seems to me, ever....... After I told the tech geeks that it fell over at Luton & The Vic when we got really busy, they told me I was making it up, "no evidence exists" they said. Grrr......

And on that subject, apologies to all for the cock-up in Monte Carlo, when the Forum fell over right at the climax of the Monte Carlo Millions. We just about managed to get the winner on, after a VERY difficult hour or two, when it fell over again. Tikay a happy bunny - NOT......

Me rertired from the Forum? Some weeks it seems like that, & some weeks, I feel I should! But sometimes, particularly when I go away to do Live Updates, I just can't cope with "looking after" & contributing to the Forum as well. Monte Carlo is a good case in point. We Updated from 11am to midnight or 1am, then I got invited, ech night, to play a series of SNG's with a bunch of lads. "OK, just one" I'd say, then 1 became 2, became 3, suddenly it's 5 or 6am! as my hosts, on the boat, were inviting me to play the SNG's, & I was their guest, it's hard to say no. Result, I had a BALL, but I neglected my e-mails & the Forum for the best part of a week. A long-winded explanation, I know, but I want you to know that the Forum means as great deal to me, & I don't intend, ever, to walk away from it.
