There's somewhat of a debate going down on Table 6 as to the odds of Mickey Wernick exiting a GUKPT before the first break (end of level two). Not surprisingly, Neil Channing is involved, and I think it was eventually agreed that 15 to 1 was about right. If you'd have taken a punt on him today, however, you would have lost your money, as The Worm is still plugging away with 12,000.

Paul Gourlay limped for 400 with , Alan Stearn raised to 1,200 and, after two other players had called, Gourlay also joined the party and threw in the extra 800. After the two spades flop had been checked around, Gourlay bet 2,500 on the turn and 4,500 on the river. Stearn called both times, but soon mucked when he saw his opponent's nutty hand. "Ah," he groaned. "You've hit the flush on the river. How can I put you on the flush?" "He called instantly," Paul whispered to me. "I should have just gone all in." Nevertheless, Rocket Man took down the pot is now back up to 21,000 as a result.

I seem to recall someone requesting a count for Tam MacDonald earlier. Well, if Tam equals Thomas, then the chap seated here next to Vince Calenti should be our man. He's currently on 54,000, most, if not all, of his chips coming from an aggressive player who called bets on every street of a 2-4-5-2 board before raising on the king river. His timing on this occasion, however, was wayward, as MacDonald had A-2 and quickly made the call, which was easily enough to beat 6-4 which had ultimately been turned into a very expensive bluff.

Speaking of Vince, he's not very popular after eliminating the "norkage at the table". He did have aces though, so I think he can be forgiven.

Still in with chips..............................are you SURE its Celtic??

Did someone mention Ian Nelson earlier on? Either way, he's currently on 25-30,000, but he's very lucky to still be alive after a very strange hand. I don't know how it all unfolded, but on an A-4-3-7 board, Nelson managed to get two players to fold 5-2 with just a pair of aces.

Success for sponsor Graham Wheldon!

With one player limping, there was a raise to 800, and then a second min-raise to 1,600 from Alan Stearn. Andy Johnson (late position), Wheldon (big blind) and one other all called, leading to a four-way two spades flop. Johnson led the betting with 4,000, which was check-raised to 10,000 from Wheldon. A dwell of epic proportions (Ashfag Ahmed eventually called the clock) led to Johnson making the call, and then calling all-in for around 11,000 when Wheldon pushed the three diamonds turn. With versus , Johnson was in search of a third nine, which failed to emerge on the river.

Graham Wheldon, now on 55,000.

Andy Johnson making his exit. For a moment, I thought he was going to get to the coffee machine, turn back and pull the nuts out of his pocket.

My attempt at a cool photo - EPIC FAIL.
