Sunny Chattha raised to 2,400 from UTG+1 and Jeff Sharpe flat called in the big blind. On a three diamonds flop, Sharpe checked, Chattha bet, Sharpe pushed and Chattha called.

Chattha =
Sharpe =

turn and river later and Jeff makes a Sharpe exit.

This man is the fist to break that 100,000 mark. On an three clubs board, Doat Le called a bet of 4,000, seemingly very reluctantly indeed, before raising all in when his opponent bet 7,000 on the river. A fold later and Doat Le was left to reconstruct a now 103,000 stack.

"I've never made day two," claimed Paul Parker. "This is one of the biggest stacks I've ever had."

But as big as it was then, it's now been bashed down to 25,000 after doubling up Ryan Fronda in rather strange circumstances. In what would make great content for an episode of the X Files, Parker called a 7,000 all in (blinds 500/1,000, remember) from Ryand Fronda from the big blind with just . A befuddled Fronda tabled .

After Parker's requests for a seven were ignored by the board, Fronda quickly scooped in the pot, pinching himself in the process.

"Look how unlucky I am," complained Parker. "Why he got A-9 in his hand when I have a nine?"

Paul Parker's still talking by the way, incessantly, and right next to the table where I'm stationed.  Smiley

It's an image that has struck fear into the very hearts of his opponents... Paul Parker moving from the wine to the Guinness.

If you thought it was safe to come out from the dark, then think again, as Paul Parker's motormouth is in full flow, despite drinking his pint at the same time. In fact, this whole table has been a lively one, and at times I feel like I'm intoxicated just watching it. It's like being in a mental institute with everyone speaking simultaneously, wittering on about nothing and basically not seeming to hear or understand what the hell is going on.

On the last hand, Alan Stearn went to make a raise, only to be interrupted by Parker. "Oh no, I don't like it when they clear their throat and roll their sleeves up. It's not a good sign. I think he has queens. You've got two queens, haven't you. I have no doubt whatsoever. Definitely two queens."

After Stearn had raised it up to 3,000, he received three callers in Stephen Holden, Graham Wheldon and Paul Parker on the button, small and big blind respectively. "Definitely queens," continued Parker. "Look, I'll admit it, I haven't got queens, happy now," replied Stearn.

On the flop, everyone checked round to Holden who pushed all in for 13,800. Wheldon folded. "How much?" asked Parker before folding. The action halted on Stearn who dropped his head into his hands and began talking to himself like Rainman, but with less hair. "Still think I've got queens then?" he said to Parker.

"This is ridiculous," complained Ryan Fronda as Stearn continued to dwell. "We're playing three hands an hour here. It's doin' my brain in. Clock please" After Fronda had called the clock, there seemed to be another pointless conversation about who called it, before the T.D. was eventually called over to give Stearn a 60 second warning. In the end, Stearn made the fold, and Holden showed .

Holden may have survived, but if Parker moves onto shots, none of us will survive!

Ryan Fronda doubled through to 30-35,000 on the very last hand of the night. He pushed with and found action in Yucel Eminoglu who looked him up with . A later and The Model had earned a spot in Day 2, and with a much healthier stack to boot.

Play has now come to an end for the day. I'm going to rush out and beat the traffic, as my dad used to say at the footie, and I shall see you back here tomorrow at 2pm. Day 2 should be a corker, but until then, keep an eye out for the chip counts which should appear here as soon as I receive them.

Toodle pip.
