Rules

There are 11 questions, PM me your answers to them by Sunday Mar 8th 21.00 GMT, each answer on a different line with corresponding question number.

Your score for each question is number of people who give the same correct answer. So you want to go for answers that you think will be less commonly given. Levelling commonly happens. The answer most commonly given is called the sheep, with the corresponding sheep score.

You are not allowed to do research such as Google searches to come up with answers.  Those who do will be spotted by the other contestants and no doubt pointed out. Such villains will have it on their conscience and will have to devise a way of purging their sins. (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=40356.msg907376#msg907376)

If you give an incorrect answer, you will receive the sheep score + one half the number of distinct correct answers given, rounded up.

You MUST pass on one, and only one, question and score a 0 for that question.

Any questions, post in this thread. Don’t expect a straight answer. Oh and I am away most of this weekend.

Spelling mistakes will be accepted as correct if spelled in Ironsideish

Appeals, objections etc are allowed but must be brought up after the provisional answer list has been posted and before the running scores are posted, no earlier post will be considered but can be quoted. An appeal must have a proposer and a seconder. Non-entrants will be ignored. Once a proposer and a seconder have identified themselves any other entrant is allowed to post evidence in support of or against the objection, known as the “free for all”. If the appeal is successful the answer list will be adjusted before the scores for that round are posted. If the appeal is unsuccessful the proposer will have 2 points added to his or her score and the seconder will receive 1 points. Each entrant will be allowed to be a proposer and/or seconder 9 times. An appeal relates to one answer, multiple appeals in respect of answers to one question will require individual proposers and seconders though, if they have enough appeals available to them, the same two entrants can appeal multiple answers to the same question. Arguing about answers and gentle insulting is encouraged but will not be part of the appeal process without the identified appellants.

I am also pleased to announce that I have a sealed envelope with the results contained therein. I wish to thank the Zimbabwe Electoral Committee for their efficiency.

Finally if you feel the need for divine intervention I have to disappoint you, there is doubt as to the existence of a benign Almighty but my blonde Username is BriefBL, you never know, it could help.

The Questions

1.   Name one of the top 10 “England All Time Money List” as specified in THM database, no peeking.

2.   Name a Shakespeare comedy play. Not just one you find funny because there is lots of blood and gore, that may just happen to be a classed a tragedy.

3.   Name one of the Beatles Top 10 selling singles in the UK.

4.   Name one of the top 10 most popular English pub names as surveyed by CAMRA in 2007.

5.   Name a Commissioned Rank in the British Army. There will be no “whale” grouping as each rank is distinct.

6.   A game that uses a die or dice.

7.   A team that has won the English FA cup on more than 3 occasions.

8.   A member of the present HM Cabinet who is also a Secretary of State.

9.   A menu item from McDonalds that contains meat.

10.   A member of the starting eleven of the English Football team in the 1966 World Cup Final.

11.   One of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. For the avoidance of doubt and to stall the pedants, the list was settled upon in the Middle Ages and was the one you heard about at school.

Looking forward to the arguments about whether or not limited edition menu items such as the wonderful McRib will be accepted!

I need a translation please with regards to the objections, seconders, etc.  The free-for-all bit makes perfect sense though.

This is going to be fun...
