I'm with Robert on this one.  From every piece of anecdotal evidence I've come across anyone caught doing over 100mph has ended up in court (with one or two exceptions for some very lucky people who were doing just over 100).  All the ones that have gone to court have seen at least 6 points and a hefty fine, and if you're doing towards 130mph it would be an instant ban I would have thought.

Robert, would it be classified as dangerous driving?

well i didnt get instantly banned
i didnt even get points either.
but i did go to court and got a 130£ fine

5 lanes at 2 am in the morning is not so dangerous imo

maybe i had a nice police man

Very confusing thread.

My mum asked me if i could pick my grandma up from the airport. I asked if i had insurance. ( i couldnt check coz i was in leeds and my family lives in lincoln)

But you could of checked as you had to go to Lincoln to pick the car up yes?.

Also lmao at Evilpies reply, You sound like  Claire Rayner.

yes i believe that was my mistake

but i trusted my brother  that he read the document properly

in answer to op, if i were ur brother id offer to pay the fine (not the speeding one though). it ultimately comes down to you though. sorry

i know it does come down to me but. could he not just spend 5 mins of his life to read a document instead of playing WOW 24/7

i would of never drove. makes no sense to travel all the way to lincoln just to read a document

my mistake is trusting my retarded brother

But you had to go to Lincoln to collect the car. I'm dingeddelled.

ok ok

i live in leeds
mum in lincoln asks me to pick grandma up using the family car in lincoln
i ask if i had insurance
bro says yes

i travel on train to lincoln to get car in lincoln
I drive to airport to pick grandma up
i got stopped by police on the way to the airport (2 am 5 lanes no cars)
pick grandma up
go home

next day i realise i didnt have insurance

so i end up in court
with fine and ban

but if i had insurance i would not of got banned

i hope this clears everything

Arhhh okey dokey, that is much clearer now.

You have learnt a few wise and costly lesson from this young man.

1, Don't speed. (not your brothers fault)

2 ,Do not drive without insurance.

3,                                                                                              < Left blank for witty answer time.

4,  You should now thank your brother as from now on you will never trust what others tell you unless you see it with your own eyes.

I think he meant automatic ban rather than instant (common use of the statement though). The cops can give you a conditional offer or get a summons issued. Conditional offer is £60 and 3 points. Your speed was outside the scope of a conditional offer.

I'm astounded (or should i say doubtful) that you were not banned for 130 mph under any circumstances.

There is no way you got zero points. You get 3 points just for getting done plus more if the offence(s) are not minor. 130 isn't considered minor !

Totting up procedure Huh?

Besides that he wouldn't get neither for 130 mph as claimed.

we obv arnt getting the full story here. I think what he is saying is he never got done for speeding as the police estimate his speed at 110-130 therefore they havnt actually clocked/recorded it.
they have pulled him to slow him down and then given him a producer for his docs wich of course show he has no insurance. that is what the ban is for!

str8 ban=no points. if this isnt the case its all just made up lol.

but what you have said is all true

maybe the police didnt have any evidence of me speeding so he just wanted my documents.
