Not my hand, but one that occurred and involved a mate recently.

Live MTT 10,000 stacks, fourth hand.

In BB having folded first 3 hands.
One limper, SB makes up, 46off - check

Flop

3 5 7 rainbow
SB bets 150 (pot)

mate raised to 500
limper folds
SB reraises to 1500

action?

This hand is really getting to me

So, what if we flat call the 3bet (which appears to have been many people's option)

Turn card is a 9, board still rainbow

what's the plan?

Erm do we need a new thread?

I think it is the sb to act first so depends what he does.

On the basis that the hand is now being played hypothetically, I thought it easier.

so

hypothetically sb checks...

I check for pot control. Same if board pairs. Any other turn we bet unless we have reads that we are still ahead in which case bet.

Don't let it get to you mate.

Every hand is different and everybody will have a slightly or very different way of playing it.

If we all played every hand the same then it would be boring.

You can think of every hypothetical situation possible and you will still get different answers on here.

Personally I play this hand strong (bet or raise) 75% of the time and slow (flat or check) 25% the same as I play sets.

The main thing is that you have flopped the nuts so at some point you want all the chips in if it's at all possible. No matter what happens you're never passing following that flop unless something ultra nasty happens.

If you think your oppo passes to any bet then yes you let him catch up a bit. If he overtakes you somehow it's just one of those things.

If you think he is the type not to back down once he's shown strength then get it in on the flop. If he's bluffing you've already shown too much strength for him to continue on the turn unless he's completely insane.

This does change if you have previously shown tendancies to be weak. If you think that he might think he can get you off the hand then yes you check or flat and give him a little rope.

If I'm checking here it's never for pot control. I want it all in asap and if I think a check will achieve that then a check it is. If at the time I think a bet or raise will induce a shove then that's what I'll go for.

For me this hand plays very differently live to online. Online it's a definite check because your oppo is more likely to try to bluff. Live it changes because players tend to not be as strong. In a live game with this action I would be happy to 4 bet the flop expecting my oppo to have 2 pair or a set and shove.

Online I might play it slower because oppos see weakness in betting patterns and are far more likely to steal.

did it make a flushdraw possible? not because im worried about protecting my hand but will my opponent now think i can have turned some kind of supersexy combo?

given stack sizes and the likelihood that almost 99% of the time he has a set, i checkraise allin after he bets somewhere in the region of 2-3k. I dislike check call as he can check back nasty rivers/board might pair/ppl dont know how to vbet well deep.

i dont mind leading either, like same betsize as him to facilitate river jam, but its not ideal as he has a set and will make a boat or quads 1 time in 5/get scared by a str8completing card.

I was thinking about this yesterday and I don't think in real life I would ever check here regardless of the turn. We should be looking to get it in still so if he checks to us a bet is in order. I don't mind anywhere between 1/3 -> Pot as given flop action he is calling/raising and unlikely to fold unless he was bluffing and has given up.

By the way, I don't understand half of the lingo here - juuuuuune, ftw, and tez etc.
