I've been keeping a quite important development in my life quiet for the past few months but thought it was about time I told everyone that my girlfriend Elizabeth is expecting a baby (and she assures me that it's mine!)

It was all rather unexpected, but we have lived together for the last 2 years, so although it's a little earlier than we might have planned, I'm sure we'll make the best of it.

She just had her 20 week scan today and everything is as it should be. It's due on the 31st August.

I've been running pretty good at the poker tables since we found out a few months ago. I think that's largely because I felt I had to prove myself I could do this as a job whilst supporting a child. Have perhaps been more sensible and bankroll conscious than I have in the past!

Hopefully I won't gamble it's university fund on a spin up any time in the future, lol...

Very pleased for you both mate,  it's gonna be right in your eye when you nip to the baby shop and see the prices of prams and cot beds etc (i was bloody shocked any way, those 2 items came to nearly a grand)

Thanks guys!

Know what ya mean mate, but managed to get a good deal on mothercare website for the pram and car seat, and saved loads on the furniture by getting IKEA stuff (sadly Liz wouldn't let me follow through on my proposition to "make up a nice drawer for it" lol...setting up a draw > trying to put together IKEA flatpacks!)

On the 20 week scan did you find the sex?

Me and the Mrs had our scan a few weeks ago and we'd said from the start that we wouldn't find out, were really adamant about it

Scan done, all checks done.... Nurse "would you like to know the sex?" absolutely no hesitation at all.... Louise "oh yes please"  WTF?
