2nd hand of tournament.
10,000 chips, (1x 10,000 rebuy & 1x 10,000 add on available).
Blinds 50/100.
Mid position
, I raise to 300, BB reraises to 900. reraise called.
Flop
.
BB leads out for 1500.
I raise to 4500.
BB tanks for 3-4 minutes, then shoves.
I fold.
Thoughts please?

you are beat most of the time. However - if you can rebuy i prob get it in given that you have half your stack in.
If you can rebuy when down to 5k - i fold and rebuy.
The only hand you are ahead of is AKdd and you still have a good deal of swerving to do.
If you didnt want to get it all in on that board i would call the 1500 and hope a scare card came (any 8 and 10 any diamond) to get to show down as cheapo as poss or to take a weaker opponent off their hand. Your raise and his re-ship confirms he has you beat now.

Don't like the way you played it.
Raise/calling pre is fine but I would much prefer a flat on the flop if your gonna continue with the hand rather than raise/folding for half your stack

Yay, we now have 1.5x a starting stack, which shows how stupid the half chip rule is.

Ok, now realise it was bad play.
I thought BB might be trying to make an early statement of defending his blind then continuation betting or he was doing that with AK, AQ and continuation betting. I raised because I wanted to take pot down. If I flat called I was worried that a scare card would come and I could be bluffed off pot or he could hit his overs.
Happy to take criticsm as want to learn from it(hence my posting!)!

Good post bud. So from that post have a look at what's driving your strat decisions at the poker table. Pretty much fear and worry. In this case you fear the next card coming so you raise. That is a really bad reason to raise. It's like when that bushman Ray Mears says you should play dead when a bear attacks if you want to live and running fast means you will die. Then when a bear does actually attack you in the wild you suddenly find yourself running fast. Why are you running? There is no real explanation for that.
