.... lay downs that is.  What is your best ever lay down?

I was playing a cash session last night 2/4 NLHE short handed.  Maniac to my right had built up my $400 nicely to $997.  He makes his standard x2 raise, I call with AQspades in the SB.  BB re-raises to $24.  Maniac calls, I see a flop.

Q,7,2 - 2 spades.  Nut flush draw and TPTK.

Pre-flop reraiser moves all-in for $1700.  Maniac folds.  I fold, he shows KK - one spade.

Alright, it's not an amazing lay down, and if I only had $50 left I would of called him, fish like me rarely fold so any lay down might be considered 'great'  Cheesy

What about you guys?

In a live tournie laid down K high flush to the ace high flush. What made it a 'good lay-down' for me was the fact that the guy betting into me was a total maniac bluffer, but there was something about the way he was betting, the way he was acting that I knew he had the nuts. Took ages to make the fold but did it in the end.

I once slept for 16 hours without interruption. That was indeed a great lay down.

I passed QQ on a ten high board (no flush/straights) to a guy I had convinced myself had hit a set. He called my pre-flop raise from the BB and said "it's in there" as he called which I'd seen him do before with a middle pair, he then bet 1/3 of the pot at me which was just sreaming out to be raised... took me an age but I passed and he showed a set of 8s. No idea how I passed it in all honesty, just one of those things at the time.

I knew it was a tight one Greg.  The problem was, I felt he had Aces or Kings.  Queens he would want action with I suspect, Jacks or worse he wouldn't want to risk a call of around $970 with an under pair (the maniac had folded, this guy wasn't too bad).  I'd spent nearly 4 hours milking the maniac cash cow, did I want to risk a $500+ profit for a potential $400 loss?

Of course if a Q, A or Spade hits it's party time but I'm not really getting great odds - calling my stack, about $970 into a pot of $1042 (I think).  He did hold a spade too (he showed the Kings) which decreased my chances a little further.

On a different day, with a small stack, I would of been in for it.

I have to admit, part of me wishes I'd called.

My mark is now playing 4/8 NLHE with $2000 in front of him.

The QQ pass seems very good to me, Phil.

OK not a great lay down story but a fantastic board story.

I dealt a game mast night when we had in one hand quad jacks quad kings a straght and a pair of nines.

as you can imagine all of the money was in the pot but its the first time I ever saw  and  on the same board, as you can imagine the guy with the jacks was gonna throw up.  now who could have laid that hand down?

I think its a decent laydown because you had only invested $24 into the pot and were facing a OTT bet of $1700 to win $72.    I dont play much cash, but I'd have thought TPTK with nut flush draw, v a maniac would be a hand most people would kill to get their money in with.

This was a different maniac!  Cheesy - strangely he'd been very solid before this occured, I guess he wanted to end the hand then and there.

If it was matey boy I would of called.  Mainly because he only had $250 left and he was a nutter  >:?
