If you receive an email from the Department of Health telling you not to eat tinned pork because of swine flu , please ignore it.
It's just Spam.

Just when you thought it was safe to go outside the World Health Organisation issue this
WHO update
Wednesday 10 June, 6:00 GMT
* 74 countries worldwide
* 27,737 confirmed cases worldwide
* 141 deaths (Canada = 4, Chile= 2, Costa Rica = 1, Dominican Republic = 1, Mexico = 106, USA = 27)
A further 42 people in England have been confirmed with swine flu. One of these cases is in the East Midlands, two in the South East, six in London, 14 in the North East and 19 in the West Midlands.
Together with the one case in Northern Ireland and the 32 cases confirmed in Scotland on Tuesday, there have now been 750 cases of swine flu confirmed in the UK.
A further 607 cases are being investigated.

WHO are getting ready to declare a swine flu pandemic
If the WHO weren't such complete wimps and bowed to political pressure they would have declared this a month ago. Just calling it a level 6 rather than a level 5 is not actually going to change anything other than increase the medias level of hysteria.

From that link I posted earlier:
So the WHO has decided to play it by ear, and given the unpredictability of flu, this is probably not a bad thing. Level 6 or not, the situation is serious. All scientific eyes now are on the southern hemisphere, just entering its regular flu season, where cases of H1N1 appear to be rising. The virus will now basically duke it out with ordinary flu, to see who spreads fastest.

Doesn't declaring it an official pandemic mean that governments will now have to mass-produce vaccines?

There aren't any vaccines for swine flu - that's the problem.
Basically, there are a lot of governments with their heads in the sand on this one. It's inevitable that a pandemic will eventually come along and wipe out a lot of people. Will it be this one, who knows?
