I was hoping to entice a shove, also building the pot i had a floooooosh ya know Smiley

When the river comes down and he checks, I'm betting 775 and praying to get paid off. Its possible that small weak bet tilted him to make the move with the shove no?

Why bet on the end if you are going to fold to a shove?

His line doesnt make too much sense (but this shove on the end is usually the nuts)

I prob call this spot thou - gut feel

without a read on villain i'm not a fan of the small rr on the turn as it pretty much screams flush to me, imo it polarized your range and after his donk bet on the flop and a weak lead on the turn and calling your small rr his range becomes a grey area for me also..so on 5th street i'm not a huge fan of value betting here when the board pairs..For me this means that in every situation where i don't have a strong read/reason for what i am doing and my opponents range is a somewhat grey area,i find it is best to give up on making a value bet on 5th street because if i do vb my hand i tend to find myself having to make marginal decisions...

Think bet/folding for value here is fine

this doesnt make sense - i think the 775 into (circa) 2300 screams - i have half a hand

If you are going to v bet fold - why not check call? This has to be a better line. You are folding for 2k more into a 4k pot??!?!?!?!?!?!?

i dont like the v bet fold here. As for teh OP comment - you should always have a plan!!!!!

Yes, that is possible. But also unlikely. If you played the hand vs 100 different people how many of them are going to tilt-jam their whole stack with air at 25/50 cos your 775 bet was so brilliantly tilt-inducing? The odd donkey might, but most people wouldn't. If he has showdown value he can easily call the vb, so jamming suggests he has air or nuts imo. Your hand looks pretty stong to me from where villain's sitting and the fact that he jams what is an obvious vb would indicate you're toast. But hey, he could be one of those odd donkey's, but if you call you would be just guessing imo.

lol i wasn't suggesting that it was a super skilled tilt inducing bet.I was asked why i bet so small on the river and as i said when he checks the river to me i assume I'm ahead because IMO at this stage he looks weak , so I'm just hoping to get paid off. It's just that when he moves all in i was slightly bamboozled, it dosent happen me that often that I'm check raised on the river and if i do it myself which is very very rare i will have the nuts most probably. In all honesty i wanted to spew when he moved in , i timebanked it and really couldn't put him on anything i could beat but still made a crying (or bad) call and luckily for me he happened to be one of those random donks that mantis talked about!.

He had   . Anyway i think it was a bad call personally but others are saying snap it so prob ain't straightforward either way.

What do people think of his play?

if he did it with the intention to rep a boat if the river pairs then i don't mind his line of thinking here but i'd need a read on my opponent or history with them and have a good idea that they will bet the river..why do you think he is weak though after calling your rr on the turn if he has a set how would he proceed in your opinion - check call turn?
