The chip glance simply refers to a player looking down at their chips before the action gets to them once the flop has been dealt
What if, like me, the player never looks at his cards until the action is on him/her?
Then you are probably not a weak player, and what does this have to do with looking at your chips?

your just slowing the game down for the rest of us then
at your age you take about 5 minutes to pick up the cards
mind you at your age you will proberly forget what you had anyway
only reason to explain some of those plays

Oh, I AM a weak player!
But the article seems to hold no relevance if the player has not first looked at his cards - which is what the Article implies. Even if you plan to bluff, surely - in most cases - you gotta look first, even if only to make it look like you've looked!
As a matter of interest, who penned the piece?

Dunno who penned it...Just saying that insta flaming it not really fair considering they are right really, its just a question of the interpretation of the wording on how long the person is looking down at their chips. I say tomato, you say 'fuck off you yank'.

if you don't look at your cards until after the flop is dealt I'd suggest you try!

Flaming? Lol no! It's just humour. Bad humour, but humour. We do not permit flaming here.

Any article that tells you "what people do" is a farce. People do a lot of different things. You need to find out what each individual does to play poker well...and you can't learn what people do from a book. You've gotta watch them to do that.

Not really "down with da kidz" as such. Just Friends.
