Had a real good look at this card and come to the conclusion it's nigh on impossible!

5.50 All the "right" people are backing Pepper Lane, but David Barron, master trainer though he is, isn't exactly renowned for first time 2 year old out winners. I wouldn't be keen on opposing this, but at the price (5/2ish) I wouldn't want to be backing it either. (I must say though, in my time at Blue Squirrel when one of Barron's was backed by a select group of punters, they almost invariably won)

6.20 Mushashi would eat this lot for breakfast if he's 100% right, but the fact he's dropped into a seller is not a good sign. My advice? Get a round of drinks in while everyone is watching the race, no queue!

6.55 If Indian Trail was better drawn, I would fancy him quite alot in this. But he has a nightmare from 13. If pushed, I would back Sunrise Safari at 5/1 or better. Better still, get another round in.

7.25 Most interesting race on the card by a country mile. Rangerfinder could easily piss up  (Dane O'Neill travelling up for his only mount of the night), but I would have expected him to be a 6/4 chance if the right people expected him first time out. Snoqualme Boy is interesting too for a new yard, but is friendless on Betfair..  With Demollition and Veiled Applause looking handicapped out of it. Granston looks a rock solid each way chance at 7/2. Probably my only bet of the night. (Make sure there are no non runners before backing him eachy peachy)

8.00 Lucky Dancer *could* get an easy lead and is up against alot of out of form or moderate (or both) rivals. However, betting a horse who had shown precious little prior to one greatly improved performance (given an excellent ride last time) at such a short price is a quick way to the poorhouse. No bet.

8.30 Alpha Tauri should win. But he pulled like a train at Warwick and if he was anything even half decent Henry wouldn't be running him here. Reject each way at 4/1 looks good, but I doubt any on course bookmakers will lay you an each way bet in this heat.

Sorry I can't be of any more help, but it looks incredibly tough tonight.

GL. (you'll need it!)

Good shout on Granston Keith.

Ended up having more than my maximum on that.. Rangefinder obv wasn't fancied but Granston never shortened up, so I kept on backing it Smiley
