Yeah. Good win. Played really well, about three poor overs from 40.

England through to the next round no matter what happens in the Pakistan v Netherlands game.

Try explaining that to Kevin Pietersen.

Better performance all the way round, won't be running down the bookies with a fistfull of cash to wade in on England, but much improved.

dino1980 - Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland and Holland

Longy - Australia

ChipRich - India

Matt50 - Sri Lanka

Blatch - New Zealand

Rooky9 - West Indies

TightEnd - England

maldini32 - Pakistan

Bongo - South Africa

Any ideas what punishments we can get the shrewdies to do to Chip Rich as he has failed to pay up?

think Sri Lanka at 9/2 3rd favourites look a great bet in this

two superb spinners, and spinners are I think key in this..taking pace of the ball on worn pitches as the whole comp is only being played at 3 venues, Malinga is tough to hit at the death too

Bat a way down too

South Africa 5/2, India 3/1 of course strong teams I'll take Sri Lanka at a bigger price

Agree with everything you said apart from batting way down, that is their fragility IMO. Fairish price though bearing that in mind.

Look out for their helmets too!

A mate of mine from Uni set up a company after he left involving inovative cricket designs, gloves/pads/helemts etc, and he's managed to get Sri Lanka to wear the helmets in the World Cup...

Also several county cricketers now too I think...    www.ayrtek.com

The draw was made with the help of Tighty and Kev giving me random numbers and is as follows:

dino1980 - Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland and Holland

Longy - Australia

ChipRich - India

Matt50 - Sri Lanka

Blatch - New Zealand

Rooky9 - West Indies

TightEnd - England

maldini32 - Pakistan

Bongo - South Africa

Everyone has now paid.

I am quite pleased with having Sri Lanka, should get a decent run out of them.

I noticed Sangakkara wearing a different helmet last night - it appeared more streamline like the one cyclists wear.  I would imagine that it is lighter than the normal helmets as well.

Yeah its a carbon fibre/kevlar shell, a fair bit lighter, and 3 times a strong...

He's having a problem though with attracing 'names' to wear it, basically their first question is not ''how strong/safe is it?''

Its  ''How much will you pay me to wear it''

More than happy with NZ's easier draw for the super 8's

Playing well against SA currently too.

Are any newspapers/websites running a 'dreamteam' for this years comp?

I know Metro are.

I entered 5 teams into the Metro comp, and out of about 21,000 entries i currently have 1 of my teams in 9th place!!!!

Trouble is there is only prizes for the top 2.
