During the War , the radio stations moved up to Bedford, from London, to avoid the bombs.
Glenn Miller was stationed at Clapham about 2 miles north of Bedford
Every year on the old grass track at TWINWOOD they used as a runway , there is a tribute to Glenn weekend
He played at Bedford Corn Exchange . v popular he was.
He was the best Known" Big Band "of the 40's,
Book Early for August bank Holiday weekend

I was invited to this one year, but couldn't go
Fortunately the local paper reviews it every year so I know 3 Glenn Miller songs lol.
Entered by the way, worrying sheep tendencies in my answers I think
That's one more than me. I think you will have the two i know.

so just to get this straight. there's an old bloke dead singer whose songs you wouldn't know except that some band plays a tribute to him which is reviewed in your local paper and because of that, presumably as a result of your photographic memory, you now know 3 of his songs?

do we have to guess which night before christmas it was? if it was, say, august 18th would there be different reindeer's (sic) than on october 1st?
I wish there was an avatar to show someone laughing so hard that their legs are weak, tears are pouring out of their eyes and their cheeks and mouth all stretched and hurting.
I wish there was a mouse cursor that removed blue things from Avatars..!!

Sigh.
So many who claim to be bright, & have taste, & you don't know who Glenn Mller is, or what happened to him. I can't be arsed to explain. I'm just not In The Mood.
You seen his body tikay?
Hope he is a good diver as Glenn Millar's plane was lost over the North Sea!

I knew two famous ones, and dredged up a third from trying to remember the review in the Beds on Sunday. Page 26 in the review section it was I recall, and the old film "The Glenn Miller Story"
I still think any of these three are sheep-ish. Fans will know to avoid them and thus Ace so its not a good relative question for me

I passed the Glenn Miller one, obv. Had a gander at his greatest hits on amazon afterwards and had only heard of two of the songs on there, but would never have known they were his. Presumably those will be the sheep!
