I iz confused, can you clarify please tony. this is from the confirmation email from sky

Quote
You'll find myself and the team in the reception area of the card room from midday onwards where you'll need to complete your membership with the card room and register for the tournament.

so we need to register for the tournament even though we've already bought in/qualified? surely not. what if my train is late so I miss the start and don't register on time?

No, that's not quite right gatso.

By "register" they mean, sort of, "report for duty". Everyone gets "ticked off" (literally, not figuratively) on the Master List when they arrive at the Sky Poker Welcome Desk so we know who has, & has not, arrived, then you get issued with a name badge by young Sarah, & given your sooper-dooper Sky-Poker Card-Marker etc. This is not your regular Tourney, we schmooze you & kiss you & that sort of thing. Commentary, too, God help you. Heckling ftw.

Did you buy-in/qualify on Sky, or buy-in at DTD, as a matter of interest?

PS - If you are running late, ring me, & I'll make sure you are sorted out.

  Can I baggsy  please? Tnx.

You can have the whole nine nine yards, Miss D.

For nine read three, for yards read inches, for Miss D, read anyone.

Is it wrong that I understood this?

I would like to say it was my son who was messing with the keyboard but it was my hilarious wife

So, repeat the question please, Mr B. Unless it's one of your bad-beat tales, in which case, please spare me. Wink

lol plz let me not become infamous for being a bad beat whinger!!! I've given up telling stories- I promise!!!

My question was re alternates- same rule as any other dtd event (first two levels)

Usual DTD rules in that respect? - let me check with the Suits first please. For complex reasons, we never permitted Alternates in Legs 1 to 5, but this MAY be different. Will let you know tomorrow.

Sky Poker are monitoring this Thread smuzzles, & will either answer themselves, or let me know the answer, & I'll reply accordingly

For now, my advice is that there are only two ways to Enter, officially, being......

1) Qualify on Sky Poker, or buy-in Direct, on Sky Poker.

2) Buy in for Cash at DTD. You wll need a Sky Poker Account to receive any winnings though.

There are now approx 215 seats paid for, (188 + 22 + 5) with, if it goes through, 10 more awaiting "approval", and Capacity is, I think, 270.  So I'd strongly recommend you buy-in quickly.

Well yes, that would solve everything, at a stroke.

02:24:43 It gets paid in cash Jason but again, you still need to be a registered user in order to buy in.
02:26:06 i am bein told otherwise by a person on a poker forum who works for sky
02:26:53 What's the person's name?
02:27:57 can u just make sure u r lookin up the right tourny its the grand final of the sky pokeer tour in nottingham england at dtd poker club
02:30:14 hello?
02:30:48 Yes I'm talking about the same tournament.
02:31:29 so you are sayin it gets paid in cash at the venue and not into a sky poker account ?
02:32:23 I believe so yes. But you're making me doubt myself now. Let me just double check again.

this is the last thing the support said to me

02:57:56 I'll follow up on this just to be sure. But again I confirm that the prize is paying in cash. Either way, you have to register an account with us first. I'm sorry but I can take the matter no further than this so I'll have to end this session soon. If you have any further questions then I can help but I think we've covered everything on this matter.
