Trips on flop
«
on:
June 10, 2009, 05:31:27 PM »
8 handed 5,000 starting stack 50/100 blinds
I'm in BB and my stack has dropped to 3,300 thanks to some inspired preflop calls by others! K 9 hitting two pair when I'd raised with AK for one...
two limpers plus S makes up I have
and check ... (mistake?)
flop is
SB checks
I check
first limper bets 300, fold, call
action?

whats the reason for the raise
why not?
lol
need to make sure we can get all the chips in at some point and although its a rainbow board its all over a few typically limped hands

i reckons lead the flop.
as played raise to 900 is good
.
if you flat and check the turn it is likely you will get nothing else in against hands like KJ, J9.
flatting and leading the turn is horrible - you may as well carry a sign saying "i have a ten"

What other hand would you check raise with on this board other than having a 10 in your hand since it's a pretty dry board ??

I raised to 800 (close enough?) Bet sizing is an issue for me sometimes, I'm trying to counter a tendency to overbet, and my first thought was to make it 1300...
Initial better folds (he had an underpair apparently) and sb calls the extra 500
turn is
SB checks....

SB calls?...OK...he must have some sort of hand. I am still happy to bet out here though. 1500 should do (the chips are obv going to go in the middle here).

I bet a 1000 - he called instantly
Turn card was a blank - a 4 I think
SB puts me All in....

Well we're not folding with 1900 of our stack in the middle and 1400 back, if we were in front on the turn then we still are. Hopefully he has QJ, arguably his most likely holding based on the action.
