So - I've been doing some reading.
As my telly will be for watching sport (most of the time), motion blurring (or lack of) is important.
From what I've read plasma is better for coping with motion than LCD - or is that not the case any more? I've also read that plasma gives better clarity and 'black' in dim light, but doesn't perform as well in bright light.
So for me, would plasma make sense?
hockey is NOT a sport!

Very nice. I thought you wanted a 32" though?
If you're after a budget 42" now pop round to mine and check out my new LG.
Good looking piece of kit and £550.
Picture's really good too. I'll even let you put some of that sport stuff you talk about on it.

Top link is only HD Ready, not full 1080p. That said, tele HD is only 720. I couldn't tell the difference between my HD ready tele and a 1080p LCD playing a bl ray disc.
Best thing, pop down the shop and see them both in action.

Another question.
I've heard that on SD, a 720p telly can look better than a 1080p telly. True/false/depends?

Don't watch films that often - it's mostly for sport on Sky to be honest. I want to see Serena and her brother in glorious quality.

If you're not watching blu rays or HD DVD's all the time, you won't notice the difference, save the money and go with the cheaper option.
Sky Sports HD is the bollocks, you'll love the rugby league, it's awesome.

But I get to play poker on the 1080p one, as it's a decent resolution...I see what you're saying though.

People with the old old Sky SD systems who pay £2.50 for a telly might say that...
Dont consider 20,000:1 when 30,000 is not that much more expensive...
get the higher resolution 30k HD-NOW rather than the 20k HD-Ready
