Duncan Bannatyne is very anti-gambling

He's bid on the Nuts Poker League in Dragons Den but was out-negotiated by two other dragons.

The Nuts Poker League never actually got the backing in the end, after the show they went over the finer details and decided against it.

On a side note, has anyone had Reggae Reggae Sauce, its well nice.

Was it not the case that the Nuts Poker guy got Dragon's funding then the Dragons got gazumped and ther Poker League fella went elsewhere?

Just looking up gazumped...........

I actually heard they took a look at his books and his facts and figures didn't add up. This was from someone who works for a rival pub poker league, so read into that what you will.

This happens a lot on Dragon's Den - a lot of the deals agreed never actually happen.

I believe the deal stalled over the legalities of poker in the pub and other compliance issues.
And yes, Reggae Reggae is the mutts.

I could see it actually, not because its a good investment opportunity because 99% of the time it wont be, but simply because they are probably very ignorant of the game and someone persuasive could say 'look I have a shark on my sharkscope, that means Im good innit' and they fall for it.

I'm trying to think of a good Fergus joke to wrap the thread up, watch this space.

As soon as JJ has to admit there is luck involved in poker, he will be out the door. The Dragons aren't exactly 'risk takers'. But good luck to him nonetheless.

They're not stupid though. Surely the first thing they'll ask is that if he's making money why does he need 65k. I don't think they'll understand the BR management aspect of it

Well one of their big reasons for accepting the Nuts poker league was they were poker affiliates as well, which the (the show at least) made out to be a big deal, but every man and their dog is a poker affiliate which they didnt seem to know.

Plus that Peter bloke (the one in all the adverts) occassionally goes 'Im gonna punt on a shit idea' so there is always a chance
