this is how you do it

LEDGEND!!!!

I wish him all the best, but why exactly does this make him a legend? The exact opposite in my view with regard to this episode as on you tube. Though as I say, hope he recovers fully.

He kicked Berkovic in the head, that's enough to make anyone a ledgend.

Joking aside how is it the "opposite"?

Berkovic hit him first, how can you have an unfavourable opinion of someone defending themself, what should hartson have done instead, started crying?

Probably a good rule for life is that if you dont want to get kicked in the head you should probably refrain from hitting people first.

My ire would be directed towards both, not just JH in isolation. I didn't enjoy a lot of the idolatry towards JH as a "hard nut" when he was playing

However, irrespective of my views on him as a footballer, what he faces now is far more important than any of that. Lets hope he pulls through

I wish no ill on nearly anybody.

However Hartson was a dirty thug who didn't show much sympathy for some of innocents he assaulted.

[  ] That needed said.

Life threatening illness >>>>> football player who put it about a bit.

+1

He did put it about a bit as a player but far from the dirtiest I have seen by a long shot. That said I don't think there were too many centre backs who looked forward to playing against him.

I also met him once. He was half conscious in my hotel bar at 3am on the Celtic Xmas party. He was one of the ones that didn't get arrested or didn't make a rapid retreat back to Glasgow. Seems unfair to judge someone when they are hammered, but it's really pretty irrelevant. I hope that there is someway he can overcome it, it would give so much hope to others as mch as the benefits to him and h's family. It sounds pretty bad and like it's going to be horrically quick. I hope

There was a programme about his fight against cancer on STV last night (don't know if it was on in England/Wales) - he was a silly bugger to just ignore the lump. Certaianly a warning to us all not to do the bloke thing and ignore problems hoping they'll go away.

Don't think he is completely out of the woods yet but doing well and hopefully well along the road to a full recovery.
