I was out of school when work experience was being sorted, so ended up just having to go to my mum's job with her for a week. Was ok, I just did a bit of data entry and fetched everyone's sandwiches at lunch time.

Yup, Nanny State Nonsense.

I tend to disagree. Part of schooling should be about preparing kids for live in the real world afterwards.  I'd say a week spent out and about in the workplace is likely to be of more use to most young adults than sitting in a classroom learning Latin or trigonometry.

yeah but what does some hippie putting a condom on a cucumber in sex education when you're in year 9 teach anyone about anything other than people with ponytails that go round schools doing sex ed are muppets, i mean who the fck doesnt know about that stuff by year 9, sometimes i think some of this stuff thats supposed to set you up for life is them just going through the motions.

(that being said i dont agree with the lib dems compulsory sex ed for 5 year olds either)

we never even got the fun of putting a condom on a cucumber Sad When we disputed how useless our sex education classes were and asked for contraception to be covered the teacher said she could teach us the rhythm method only, and one girl in the class piped up saying why did we want to know that anyway, as none of us should be thinking of sex before marriage Roll Eyes
