I've decided to run this marathon on behalf of Childline. They are an excellent charity who help bullied and abused children who have no one else to talk to. Demand is high and they need more funds to keep up. They received over 36,000 calls for bullying alone last year. Please Sponsor me: http://www.justgiving.com/mrbullyproof/Thank you.

Sincerest good luck with this.
If you manage to achieve your target using nothing but pure determination I wil be ridiculously impressed.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Did it! 4 hours 45 minutes and I kept my promise to myself to run the whole way. Photographic evidence to follow. A huge thank you to those who sponsored me and those who have supported me. Thank you also for your good luck wishes. Special thanks to those who thought I wouldn't managed it but encouraged me anyway. My donation page will be up for a few days yet. Please consider contributing: Childline really needs your help: http://www.justgiving.com/mrbullyproof/

This was really early on. We were about 3K in. I'm wearing a belt filled to the brim with glucose. A cheeky Italian tried to pick pocket some but I managed to outrun him.

I started crying at 35K (out of 42K). Physically it got really hard but mentally I realised how close I was so there was no way I could fail. I was to feel pure euphoria all the way to the finish.
It's amazing to me that 3 months previously running 7K would have been a big challenge. But here, having just run 35K and with no energy left, running 7K was completely inevitable. There is no way in the world I wasn't finishing.
