Good review Snoopy. To be fair to the author, most of it was written/rewritten  by Andy Glazer and was way behind schedule. It shows in the rushed nature of the chapters on NLHE for sure. I agree though the O8 section is OK, the rest is definitely at the low end of strategy books and the guidance on how to play the "top hands" in LHE will bankrupt you in most online games.

Perhaps that explains why most of the book is written without Phil's giant head getting in the way.

I was surprised when I heard this book being berated for Phil's bragging and gloating. Yes, this does occur, but not as frequently as people suggest.

I thank my lucky stars that i read this book after reading Sklansky , Brunson ect.. and i could take the content with a generous dose of skeptisism
