She was shocking.  The worse thing she did was to move the blinds from in front of the players, and then she'd do the same with bets before the betting round was over.  This made it very difficult to see how much was in the pot, who'd bet what, if someone had raised who it was, etc.  I did ask her a number of times to leave the chips where they were until the betting was over - but she looked at me as though that was the most ridiculous idea imaginable.

this is common practice in a lot of venues so she has probably been trained to do it this way

at dtd for example you'll find a lot of dealers who are shipped in for the big comps do it at first until asked to leave everything in front of the players. the in house dealers don't do it as they've been trained differently

It's a terrible practice.  I've seen it at some Grosvenors as well, with some dealers doing it 'properly' and others removing the blinds and placing them in the middle.  I've not come across many who do that with every bet that's made subsequently.

The training of the dealers at DTD by Mathilde is obviously the key to the consistency.

you find that the old dealers that were trained how to deal pot limit tend to leave the chips out as it is easy to work out bets but the new breed just trained in nl tend to drag in as all they have to know is the total amout needed

Right i dunno if anyone will be able to help me. I'm Looking to get a job in a casino, preferrably as a poker dealer or to work in the cardroom in general. Preferably in Glasgow or Edinburgh or there abouts as i am from glasgow myself.

Any Feedback would be great guys.

alea in glasgow would be the place to go for as its the most popular cardroom in town and the most incred girls/women that work there

I've never known a dealer to be trained in pure NL. I know that when I was trained at Luton, I was trained in PLH.

Some dealers don't even seem to be trained in NLHE.

thats because you work at a grosvenor where the management give a toss about the poker, alot of the smaller ones dont.

for my training schools i was given 5 hours to train the dealers then they would get 1 day in the cardroom a week if they were lucky

Bad dealers tilt me.

Pulling bets into the middle of the table as they're made is so so so wrong.

The thing that tilts me most though is dealer who deal the flop one card at a time rather than all 3 at once.

Nothing wrong with dealing 1 card at a time, you only do all 3 because you have seen it on the tv

Agreed.  Not much tilts me at the table, but this at weekend was close to.  I had to get up for a walk a few times...

Doesn't bother me at all.
