I took up this bet with Laddies a month ago at 2.25 (1.25 to 1 old school)
Michael Owen to score 11 or more Premier League goals next season 09/10
zing. I knew I had the best of this. If the Magic Sign think he's 5/4 to score 11 or more, my even money on 12 or less (with a push at 12 is probably a true 4/7 or 1/2 shot. wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Given Owen's strike rate since he left Liverpool he'd need to play 44 games to score 16 goals. Doubt he'll make double figures.

owen will have better support and more opportunity than any other team since leaving liverpool injuries are the only thing stopping him scoring 10 premier league goals this season

I like your side of the bet Keith, Owen is nowhere near the force he once was, has just drifted through his late 20s when his pace went, much like fowler did. some players can cope when their legs go, like shearer did, but he did more leading the line, winning headers, putting himself about, and taking penalties, owen can do none of them and has looked lost the last two years at newcastle. obviously the newcastle side is shite, but he has no chance of getting in the man u side unless there's injuries....and fergie will sign someone either in this tranfer window or the january one, and he is also really keen on the italian kid, who he will get more involved. add in the fact he is the one most likely to pick up the injury, that he has never particularly impressed coming off the bench and that if united have a great season it's unlikely he will have anything to do with it, if they don't he's likely to get overtaken by new signings, then i reckon he'll be lucky to get 7 league goals and 15 league starts....

Which is why if he's fit i think camel will lose this bet because although he didn't score yesterday he had 2 good chances and he will get 2/3 at least every game playing for man u so when he hits some form which he will there isn't many in the league better at finishing then him
