as promised to those impatient for details, mentioning no names * The Baron*, we are planning a quiz to accompany the Blonde Bash on the 7th and 8th of January

We are in the process of finalising a few details but the current plan is as follows

The quiz will be held at the Broadway casino (Dik9 awaiting the Green light from his boss, if not we'll take a conference room at the Marriott)

Suggested time is Sunday 8th 4pm

Duration c1hr with 7 10 question rounds, including poker questions, a picture round, sport, music, current affairs, geography and odds'n'sods

Teams of FOUR people maximum

Questions set by a former Mastermind heat winner, who is not bribable. Well, probably not bribable.

So before I go any further I would like to know from the 100* or so of you planning to attend the weekend:


* Is 4pm on the Sunday OK for the majority of people? I am particularly thinking of those of you flying in from Scotland, does this suit your return plans? (other possible times are Saturday before the comp, earlier on Sunday afternoon etc)

* Are you interested?

* What is your team of four?

* If you would like to play, but need to find players to make up a team, post here and we'll do a sort of quiz "dating" service, matching you with other strays!

* Any questions/suggestions...ask away here....

When? I'm happy to go with the flow, but if I had a choice, I'd suggest 4pm on the Saturday, but really, whatever folks prefer, I'll go along with.

By the way, I jokingly suggested yesterday that there ought to be some girlies only teams. But on reflection, I think that's a bad idea. We don't want them sulking, or on non-speakers all weekend with faces like seaside donkeys, after we've whopped 'em, now do we?

We will need to make use of your "Dating Service" to get a team tho.

Dik9 has very kindly confirmed that the Broadway will host the quiz, and will provide a spread for participants


I need to tell him within 48 hours whether we are opting for the Saturday or Sunday at 4pm

Please if there are strong opinions either way can you let me know asap? Again, I am particularly thinking of those flying back to Scotland...what time is your return flight?

Finally...all those planning to play, please tell me here.we need to know numbers for catering purposes

I think we should have teams of 4, except for Girlies & Scots - they should have Teams of 8 to give them a chance. We have to be fair to the weaker sex, & the Colonies.
