Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh FML
«

Made a bacon sarnie for lunch ... we have one of those gas cookers with a lid, grill on top of oven ...
Anyway, Janes daughter had left some bloody cap on the top of the cooker ... and it was close to the vents at the back ... Result, lovely bacon sarnie, but hat was scorched, it was over the vent at the back.. sighhhhhhh
Anyway now after a 16 year old storming off upstairs crying over a stupid gangster cap, I am told I need to replace it, could cost around the 30 quid mark ... £30 for a fucking baseball cap !!
So .. should I stump up for a new one, or should she learn to take her silly hat upstairs to her room when she comes in.
I know I am gonna have to cough up whatever you lot say .... but let me know anyway.

I say she should learn her lesson and never put headwear where food is cooked or served.

Or should you pay up for the new cap without complaining? As most people would realise after 18 months, that if you leave things on the top of the cooker while it is on... things will get burnt!

Would normally agree, but as we are in the middle of having a new kitchen, and recently moved, there is no place for anything, anywhere. Also on top of the cooker was 4 rolls of wallpaper that had only been purchased minutes earlier, I feel he is lucky to only be escaping with the cost of the cap!

Ahh well that's a different story - it is his fault for not removing all the crap on the cooker before he cooked. So sorry Kev you will have to pay Up!

You dont need to move crap from on top of cooker ... it has a cover .... I used the grill. I did not know that the vent at back would actually burn anything.

As you already said it is of course only a matter of time before you replace it Kev. This thread can only cause pain and suffering of which you will receive 95%. Is it worth it? Of course it is. I say offer a new one for Xmas and put a countdown to Xmas calendar on the fridge door with a picture of said cap. Should cause maximum pain for all concerned.

You should buy her a new cap.
But she needs to know it's not just because she stormed off.
You're getting it because you burnt it therefore it's your responsibilty to replace it. You aren't getting it because you're backing down to her typical teenage tantrum.
