I gather periwinkles at the beach and a certain type of sea grass if we get really lucky. Periwinkles are tossed into a pot of boiling water for about 5 minutes and then off we go. Sea grass is a bit trickier. You have to let it dry in the sun. It can't get rain water on it or it's ruined. Ireland without rain? Yeah, that's how tricky it is! lol

When I was in the Seychelles I tried the buffet in the casino. It was full of creole delicacies, so I thought Id try a meat dish. The meat I tried was really bitter so I asked what it was. They told me Fruit Bat and it was a popular dish there, I nearly threw up there and then lol. Im surprised how big Fruit Bats are, they are as big as crows.

dulce (sp) mum's from norn iron (Londonderry, believe it or not), gave it to us a lot as kids. It's funny, it looks like seaweed, but when you eat it, it tastes like...seaweed. Only in Ireland.

I've had most african bush meats from Warthog through to Hippo. Some are OK but most of them have a very strong gamey taste which I don't really like, but if you don't mind that sort of stuff you'd probably be OK with them. Also ate a bunch of different types of insects and worms in Zimbabwe, not very nice.
