as some of you may know im 13 weeks pregnant and i was thinking that i might do a diary of how it is affecting me playing poker.

id not been playing much since i found out 6 weeks ago mainly due to me feeling pretty crap tbh.morning sickness was not only in the morning but generally most of the day.id also found that i couldnt concentrate mainly due to worrying that all was going to be ok with the scan.
i had the scan on the 12th and i was 12 weeks and 5 days and baby is growing well..and so on to telling people, facebook ftw!!!!

I went and played the £50 at dtd last saturday and felt good the only preggers problem i faced was the constant need to go to the toilet which is not ideal when deep in a comp.
when down to the last 2 tables and 11 players left it got to the point where i felt like i was going to burst if i didnt go to pee soon, lol.obviously i was on the table of 5 and we also had the shortest stacks compared to the other table which meant the blinds came very quickly.
i was surprised to find that there are still some gentelmen around nowadays and when it got to the point where i could hold it no longer the guys on my table all took extra long in folding so i only missed 1 hand.(thx trev turton for starting it)g
anyway i ended up going out in 11th for no cash marv, but felt i had played better than i had for a while.well done to Thewy who took it down :-)

it did get me thinking about how long id be able to keep playing live poker for what with the constant need to pee and ever growing bump that will soon be making its appearance.I dont think ive ever seen a pregnant lady playing and im not sure if it is a good idea or not yet.

so i guess im going to use this thread to write down any thoughts about the difference it makes to the way i play.

Thx also for all the best wishes me and Tony have recieved.

Bets of luck Fran. I would have really struggled to play in early pregnancy I think, with the sickness, constant need to go to the loo and just being so tired. 2nd trimester probably ideal time to play when those things should have calmed down a bit and you're not too big. I wouldn't worry too much about playing with a bump, plenty of non-preggers poker players with those! Wink

I saw Nicky Short round and about a fair bit in the spring and she looked like she was about 8 months gone, so presume she played right through her pregnancy.

Anyway, a diary sounds like a great idea thumbs up

Any thoughts on names yet Fran?

I've got some cracking suggestions if you need inspiration.

Congrats to you both  Smiley

It would be pretty epic if you made a big final and your waters broke. Can you imagine Kev and Rich trying to write that one up on the live updates.

Good luck with it all, George has already claimed 'Ace' as a name btw

Tony suggested Popopapapopoalous to me on msn although I'm not sure that's entirely suitable.

I was thinking Apollo if it's a boy, and possibly some variation of that if it's a girl. Maybe Apollonia or Apollette?

Once again, congrats!
