11. TIE BREAKER - Give me an interesting fact. The fact can be about anything. In the event of a tie at the end of the quiz the most interesting fact wins. Objections to facts in the reveal are allowed. If a fact turns out to be incorrect you will incur a 2 point penalty. Not giving a fact also gets a 2 point penalty.

My mum told me that when I was born it was just her, me, and the midwife. There are more people alive than that now surely?

So the onus is on someone to show an answer is incorrect, rather than the person answering having to prove their answer is correct.

You've been shown the evidence. You FAIL.

Just read the question - and the proof that is ISN'T a homage to Spinal Tap is required to make my answer a fail.
You didn't ask for evidence of the correct answer.
I didn't specifically ask for evidence, but I did ask for a fact. A fact will be proven somewhere in some manner. You should be able to show me this. Having said that, I'm gonna pass it. It is 99% probably true, and I'll allow your conversation with a BBC person to carry some weight

kinboshi PASSES
TightEnd FAILS - looking around seems to imply this isn't true. If you can offer evidence to the contrary before the end of the quiz then I'll reconsider

Final fact
Shogun112: In 1886 France donated the Statue of Liberty to USA. (We all know this.!). The statue of Liberty holds a torch in her right hand above her head an holds a tablet under her left arm. On that tablet is a date in Roman Numerals. The date is 4th July 1776, which is the date of declaration independance from Britain.

So there I was, having a chat and a cigar with my mate Richard Dawkins. Are there more people alive today than have ever lived, I asked? Oh yes, he said, about 11 times as many, said he, making an unwitting reference to spinal tap.

If you'd said that originally it would have been an excellent fact!!! Oh, and as for the horse statue thing: http://www.snopes.com/military/statue.asp
