www.getmetickets.net

I would just like to offer some advice to other blondes who may come across this organisation at some point. Do not buy tickets or should i say do not give them money then have them treat you like dirt.

There are various other bits and pieces about them on the net and loads on the watchdog site, so i am not a lone voice.

My girlfriend decided to get me standing tickets (Premium priced/most expensive) to the sold out Ian Brown gig at the MEN arena in Manchester on saturday as a birthday present and i was well chuffed.
First problems arose when the tickets did not arrive in the week before the gig as promised (and paid extra for special delivery). So she rings up on thursday to enquire about it and some horrible person on the other end of the phone replies 'we will ring you in the next couple of days' to any question that she asks and eventually hangs up.

She is rightfully worried now and after speaking to various obnoxious idiots over thursday and friday she is told that they will ring her on saturday afternoon to arrange a pick up of the tickets from a bloke outside the venue.
Saturday afternoon arrives and of course they do not ring and she is forced to ring them again. They tell her that they have not got the tickets that she has paid for but have some seated tickets which are in prime location, having been to many gigs at the MEN she asks about exact location and discovers the tickets are the worst seats in the house. Of course she asks wether the difference in ticket price (£60) will be refunded only to be told that there are no partial refunds and it's like it or lump it.

She rings me in tears and i tell her to demand full refund as i have no intention of giving these people a penny. While on the phone she requests that they make the payment immediately back to her card and the woman on the other end becomes really offensive (Fing and Blinding) to my girlfriend who is clearly upset and then hangs up the phone.

Not sure if they will refund the money without a fight but i will deinately be getting the money back.

Sorry for the epic post but just want to warn other blondes. Please post this on other forums if you get chance

This company were featured on Radio4 the other week.

They seemed to be in the market of selling tickets that they hadnt got (not always...but enough!!!)

There were loads of people who had been caught out, including a lady who had travelled 300 miles for a concert (I forget which) after being told how to pick up the tickets at the venue as it was too late to post them to her. Needless to say noone at the venue had heard of her or her tickets when she arrived.

Sorry to hear your storey Ace.

A whole Watchdog program was dedicated to these con artists, and I am afraid no one has got refunds as of yet and no one is holding their breath. Sorry to be bearer of bad news.

I saw the watchdog with them on, they get ticket touts to get them tickets then you meet the touts.  To be fair though, there are people that do get their tickets ok and I would have thought they would improve after being on watchdog - not ideal publicity.

Hope all goes well and you enjoy the gig Smiley

Ace,

I would ike to add my warning to this thread.  I have also had first hand experience of GETMETICKETS.
A few years ago Glastonbury, which I am well clued up on, bought some tickets for friends ended up in the back of a van a mile from site with some unfriendly characters, was threatened and am sorry to say was intimidated to the point of letting it go.
For the following years I tried to make life difficult for GETMETICKETS and found some interesting facts about them.
There whole business is built on touts.  They will buy tickets on the day of an event if they have over subscribed pass them off to third parties who arrange to meet the legit customer in an out of the way place to deliver ticket.
If they fail to get the ticket they normally fail to return the cash I am sorry to say.  There is masses of bad press around this company, and yet they continue to trade.  My campaign has lasted nearly five years and last year they were moved from the normal spot at Glasto, but if one Blonde member avoids this company as a result of reading this thread then I am happy.
Sorry to hear about your experience Ace, hope you get your cash back.

Hope you get to see 'King Monkey' this Tour is the best so far.

The message is clear.

GETMETICKETS.net are best steered clear of. Avoid them, & tell all your friends to do the same.

Keep us informed as to how you get on with pursuing these nice peeps please Ace2Mouth.

On the same subject, I've bought 4 tickets for the Noise and Confusion gig in Cardiff this weekend from www.im-events.co.uk. The tickets still haven't come through and after speaking to them on the phone they said I will have to pick them up from someone on Saturday morning in Cardiff. I bought the tickets on Ebay so I have also already paid for the delivery.

Has anyone had any dealings with this company or has anyone got any good advice on what I should do?
