Camel,

Great run in the wsop-e just wondering why you put the ept event up and not the wsop one? Did you qualifty online?

Anyway win it all!!

Im sure all the ept investers are happy

I'm definitely not going to play the EPT. Sorry to all investors, but I'm really not up to another gruelling and intense tournament for a while.

It really does take it out of you. The guys who sent via pokerstars will have their money returned later today, if the guys who paid by bank transfer can send me their bank details I will get that sorted out too. Obv Flushy hadn't paid so he can gfh Smiley

The reason I asked for staking in the EPT and not the WSOPE?

Well, I am currently involved in a project with my friend Tristan MacDonald. He is/will be writing a book about the poker industry. Part of the project is that we (and a guest) will play one big tournament a month (we will be playing EPT Monte Carlo, WPT Bellagio, Aussie Millions etc) and write about it here www.withnailspokerschool.com. One of the aims of the year will be to teach a novice poker player ebnough so he can hold his own in next years WSOP main event.

There's also a sports betting section and some other interesting stuff. Have a look round if you like.

There may well be the chance for a low stakes grinder to guest in a big tournament early next year, and I will let blondeites have the inside track how to apply.

Anyways, to cut a long short, the WSOPE is part of the project and the EPT London isn't, that's why I asked to sell some action.

Website looks good, sounds like the book could be good, sports betting section could be interesting, deffo interested in all of this, but..................

lol at the Camel knocking the dean off his pedestal, writing a book, launching a website and calling himself....the Coach.

Is anyone else seeing a bit of irony there?

I'm only joshing of course, I know there are a million differences between you and the Dean, but I sure did chuckle at that one

Quote
Play began warily. Only one player, a young guy who seemed to be in awe of Mr Channing (who isn't?) was keen to put any chips into the pot. Possibly he wanted to impress Neil (who doesn't?). It was he I wanted to target in a pot, I felt I could trap him and double up if I ever got dealt a monster. My chance came late in level 2. With blinds of 50-100, Mr Loosegoose made it 325 to play. From the SB, I squeezed a lovely a pair of red kings. The BB gave a tell that indicated he was going to fold so I merely called. And we saw the flop of Two Diamonds two handed. I checked, hoping to checkraise with my overpair and flush draw if he bet. But alas he checked behind. The turn was an offsuit 9. The board felt safe at the moment, but I couldn't afford to give him another free card so I bet 500. He called. Hmmmm. What could he have? A pair and a flush draw maybe. If he had the bare ace of diamonds he would surely have bet the flop. Likewise if he had a set. It was tough to put him on a hand. I intended to take him to valuetown whatever the river brought, I was so confident I had the best hand. The river was giving me top set. Lovely! So now with my value bet of 750 I was internally begging for a call. He called and showed down QJ with no diamonds for a straight. He made a truly horrible call on the turn and was rewarded with a miracle river card and then didn't make a raise. He managed to make so many mistakes in the hand yet still hurt me by taking 20% of my stack.

doesn't seem that bad to me!

It's not my idea to call myself "The Coach"!!!! (tristan is writing the book, not me!)

But the idea is giving Tristan's friend "The Novice" a few ideas which he can use in the WSOP main event. He has never played poker in a casino before although he has played the odd home cash game and dabbled a tiny bit online.

The quiz I posted on the Rail a couple of weeks ago was for this project..
