Trying to remember Tighty's template as I type this (on my iPhone!)

Online MTT

$640 entry

1570 ish entries

19 left - top 200 paid

30k/60k blinds + 6k ante

hero has 550k only

Mid position - dealt A6o

hero insta shoves, happy to pick up 150k in middle

sadly hero is called by AQo in SB which wins

hero out (& still gutted 3 days later!)

> right or wrong play?
> afterwards I felt like it was a bit like a move from mid week donkamnt at Luton g, but other half of me is saying that I had to due to stack v blinds

thoughts welcome plz....

As there are 19 left are you playing short handed? Or are they 10 man tables. Assuming the latter, you have <10 bbs and <4m not adjusted. You know that if you get called or re shoved by people not in blinds, you are gonna be behind, however you will have 30% against any hand other than AA. Finally if the blinds have huge stacks you could get called by worse eg kq. Taking into account the above, i dont mind the shove when this short. Alot can depend on your image at this point of the tourney in terms of how light you get called.

caller had 1.3m
my image was solid
table had tightened up due to imminent cash jumps
I am thinking my M is crap, and don't wanna be anted out.
I've still got enuff chips to make non premiums fold

Seems fine to me...

I'm guessing the table is 10 handed due to you saying there's 150k in the middle. This being the case, unopened in MP shoving here is fine I think, esp if you have a tightish image. Your M is just less than 4, and the blinds probably need something at least half decent to call you. You may even get a call from a hand worse than yours.

Thanks guys for your views.

As always,  a mixed bag of input.
I take some comfort out of the responses.
If u had all responded saying deffo fold, then I would felt even more gutted with my actions (which I felt were maybe too rash after the event)

I'd be interested in further thoughts from those who said fold, as to why given the situation and the stacks.
I can't keep folding in an unopened pot at 150k a round, can I?

Thanks again all.

Problem is he has a bowl of rice if he folds thru the next blinds. Once you have <10 bigs its go time with hands like this, esp with big antes. Nothing wrong with the shove. Stop worrying about it. Your only consideration here, is if you are happy to ladder, how many other shorties were there? But this is never good thinking, and you will never win with that attitude. Presume it was a reasonable score thou so Wp for getting there
