I'm starting to think backing Valuev is the way to go, despite his obvious strengths, he is also fighting in his new home of Germany, which is the most corrupt place in boxing (more than Vegas) and they will not want the title to leave. I reckon if Haye takes him the distance (which he probably will) we could see a dodgy decision.
Hope I'm wrong and Haye takes a running jump and floors the big fecker in the first round.

Very good point, there have been quite a few in Germany. Robin Reid's springs to mind against Ottke.
I still think that Haye will win most of the rounds convincingly though, so the decision should be a formality.

Like Brad Pitt did in Troy.

.
Haye has never been the distance at heavyweight though? Coming through little jabs for 12 rounds really takes it out of a fighter, see hatton v mayweather. The last bit of valuev i saw his game plan was pretty much jab him when he comes in then lateral movement away from the hooks and it worked like a charm. I'd expect haye to win the first few rounds but with biased judges and haye tiring i'd be more inclined to think valuev would win in a points situation.

Some time between 9:30 and 11pm, bigger box office in Europe than the US hence the sensible start time. There has been some petty squabbling about it being earlier than advertised as Haye makes more if it slightly later to get the box off figures up in the UK.
As for the fight I hope Haye wins, firstly cos he is British obv and secondly because he is pretty interesting to watch, we need exciting fighters in the heavyweight division.

people are saying hayes gonna win each round easy, i dont get it?
its not just that he's unproven at the weight he's just not that fantastic a fighter, especialy against a fighter whos only lost once in 52 or whatever

Haye has questionable stamina and a fragile chin. Can see him just running out of steam in the later rounds and getting knocked out.
If it goes the distance he has to win every round just to get a split decision according to someone just on Sky Sports.

I think the value(v) in the fight is the Ruski. Really hard fight to predict as we don't know how Haye's chin is going to hold up, will the Ruski be able to deal with Haye's movement and quick hands etc.

Just LOL at Ricky Hatton on the countdown show. How the fk does a professional fighter get that fat in such a short space of time? He is going have serious weight problems after he retires unless he sorts his life out.

Ricky Hatton's on countdown?
Haye should win the rounds, but so did holyfield and he did'nt get the decision. Hopefully Haye can do it more convincingly. Even if Haye's stamina gets the better of him his punch output should still be above valuevs

Haye to win pretty easily. Not that he's amazing but Valuev is so, so bad.
