Stop press: A massive milk truck and lorry carrying sheep collided head on outside my house. The milk truck is in flames and there are police, firemen and distressed singed sheep everywhere.

Buy a lightbox.

For me, the most important factor in poker performance is the quality of the sleep I just had. I do pretty ok when I'm feeling rested, but an amazing transformation takes place when I'm tired, every single aspect of my game goes wrong, I can't make reads properly, I go on tilt very easily, I make the perfect model of the bad player.
The juicy action found playing very late, into the wee hours would have to be amazing to make up for the dent tiredness makes to my game.
I'm supposed to be doing a postgrad in this shit, you'd think I'd have something better to say lol

Whats a lightbox?

Just a box that you plug in that gives off a really bright white light. It's so bright that I actually find it a bit annoying to use.
Obv you use them if you're not getting enough sunlight. If you live in the UK, during the winter you're probably not getting enough sunlight. This makes some people really depressed/lethargic. They use lightboxes and it really helps. The light goes in through your eyes and skin and it tricks your brain into thinking you are living in Corfu. You feel happy.

But there is another separate problem which is down to your body clock. The brain does not have an independent fully functioning clock. It requires external 'time givers' or cues to teach it how to run like a normal clock, with a 24 hour day.  The main one is light. Other ones are social interaction, and meals, especially social meals.
So the brain is sitting there, waiting for cues to be told the time.
Normal person:
Up and out at 8: there is daylight, until 6 pm. They have meals, with other people, at 730, 1230, 1830, every day. The brain processes all this and sets its clock by it. It knows when to make you tired, to sleep, and when to make you untired, to wake. Life is good.
Poker dude:
Up and in at 1300 .One hours daylight to fetch kebab. Meals, normally alone, at varying times of day. Clock is totally ****ed.
In this instance, you could probably make use of a lightbox to help set the clock by using it at regular times, every day.

I got one to help me wake up in the morning - it comes on at a low light half an hour before the alarm goes off and gradually gets brighter (mimicing sunrise). Even though you are still asleep, your eyes can still sense the light (as your eyelids are really thin) and your body begins to get ready to wake up, so that when the alarm goes off, you're more likely to get up and out of bed, rather than just switch it off and go back to sleep.

I sleep with my curtains completely open. Is this bad for me?

When I wake up and it's dark I just don't want to ever get out of bed.

Depends what you're doing in your bedroom and if you don't mind someone standing outside, watching.

It'll probably be Barry Neville.

My bedroom is upstairs and the equivalent windows across the road are 60m away.

I like Barry Neville.

It really needs a mint sauce lorry to crash into the wreckage.

Truck driver just made it! Got better vids. Witnessed a masssssive argument between the polis and some journo with a huge camera, journo saying he had every right to get up close, polis saying this was overridden by their duty of care to him, also he did not have landowners permission.

A ship carrying blue paint has collided with a ship carrying red paint. Both crews were marooned.
