On this board because I am more interested in betting on it than watching it. If it should be moved, ok. Have usually made decent money (in % terms at least) in previous years, backing 2 or 3 that will go a long way in the final (and laying off slices as they shorten) and also a small dabble on a longshot as a punt.
This year I think Lucie, Stacey and Jamie are all locks to have a decent run, altho unfortunately thats how the market sees it too. Not such a strong feel in the longshots (I backed Ruth last time at a decent price) but am having a punt on Rikki at a mammoth price.
What strategies do people use on these TV specials? Outright punts, locking in all green markets, laying a few short prices?
And who is going to win?

I normally trade the eliminations on the night.
Thanks to a bit of inside info I managed to get 40/1 on a woman being eliminated when Louis decided to save a stupid girl group because the sang at West Life's wedding once, or something along those lines.
I personally reckon Lucie will come through but I think they will want a non female winner this year after Leona and Alex and Simon is very good at getting what he wants.

X Factor is way tougher to play than Big Brother or the Eurovision imo.
They've shown in past series they won't just keep, say, one group in to keep that judge involved deep into the competition.
There's an element of tactical voting in the early eliminations but these are often hard to peg down in my experience.

[ ] Louis's faith in the double-take brothers is well placed

70s on betfair. No chance of winning, but the only way I can afford to do it in any kind of size is to lay 4 or 5 others at the same time - they can't all come in!

Are Miss Frank the best group? If so, they could be a trade at around 22 innit? Liable to shorten over time.

Ive had a bit on Olly @ 13 and Lloyd @ 22.
A friend of mine does X Factor betting for a betting firm and has said that they really don't want a female winnar this year.

Best group by a mile. I've backed them.
