Evening everyone,
big apologies but have had serious connection problems which have meant not being able to connect to the internet, its only now that i've finally got a working dongle and at a rate which means i can connect without risk of having to re-mortgage house! I had hoped that now that new dongle has arrived that i can start playing again and the plan was to start this weekend but as Armo texted me earlier today to tell me that a few of you were looking to have the stake returned then i'll PM everyone who sent stake money to find out who wants their stakes returned and then i will work out current balance i will arrange before the weekend - if the majority of stakers would like their stake returned then we'll call it a day and i will refund everyone. I notice on the thread that there is talk about people taking over other peoples stakes - please can no-one do this for now as i will only return stakes to people who originally staked me and not third parties to avoid any problems. If enough people want to continue then once i am up and running again playing regularly then we will see about possibility of bringing in new stakers if there is interest.
Armo also told me a few weeks ago that there is a blonde bash at DTD at the end of may so anyone who is going then let me know and i'll buy them a drink (thats drink d-r-i-n-k not drink l-a-p-d-a-n-c-e before you ask Iron!
) also by way of an apology for not being able to keep people updated on what was happening the next time i play a decent buy in live tourney (anything over £250-£300) then i will give a percentage to everyone who staked me originally whether they have had their stake returned or not.
I will update first post and PM everyone to work out returns

Morning Folks
Its been just over a year i think since the last monkey staking and having now settled in to my new tree house i am itching to start playing some serious poker - all i need now is a bankroll to get me off and
running
swinging. I've changed the target slightly from the original monkey staking - this time i will be looking to turn the original stake into $10000 instead of $20000 but the proposal will be the same. Although last time round the challenge did not reach the targets originally set out it did make a profit overall for the stakers, unfortunately it didn't result in building much of a bankroll as my share of the profit was used as spending money on a trip to Las Vegas that Claire had paid for. With no holiday plans for the forseeable future this time round hopefully i will be able to start on the road to poker riches
Proposal
My plan is to turn $2000 into $10000 playing the stars $10 & $20 180 player sit and go's. I will be putting up half of the $2000 staking required for the bankroll challenge, the remaining 50% will be sold as 2.5% $50 shares.
I propose to build the bankroll playing nothing but 180 runner sit and go's - these fill up quite regularly on pokerstars nowadays as they still feature at the top of the tournament tab in the stars main lobby. I will probably manage to play 4 or 5 in the evenings when i will be playing. My aim for the challenge is to build a bankroll but i understand that potential investors may want a quicker return on their money so my proposal is that on the final day of every month any profit that has been made will be transfered back into your stars account but that i will keep your original stake along with my original stake and my profit within the bankroll alloted to the challenge. In the event (hopefully not!) that i have a losing month then no money will be paid on the final day of the month and that a payout the following month will only occur once the previous months loss has been recovered.
All the 180 runner sit and go's are tracked on OPR and i believe that sharkscope also covers them (whether they cover them all i am unsure as i don't often use the site). You can see from my sharkscope graph that i have had success playing these $20 sit and goes as there is a noticable increase on my graph as i haven't really played that many sit and go's in my 6 years on the site.
As well as the 180 runner sit and go's also propose to play 1 of the $10 rebuy's on a sunday lunchtime for a seat into the sunday warm up on the sunday's when i will have the chance to play the warm up. I will never buy in directly to the warm up, i will only play it if winning a seat. OPR will actually record the result of the satellite but it wont log accurately the total buy in for the rebuys and add on - i will record the total staked though i the thread i intend to start during the bankroll building challenge.
*** I will play no other tournaments on stars during this challenge and therefore my results will be easily traceable on OPR *** I am making this proposal as it will help me focus in grinding out my bankroll playing games where i believe i have a larger edge over the rest of the field, rather than trying to spin up my bankroll taking shots at the big money tournaments on stars where one win would achieve the objective but where my edge (if any) is only minimal.
If anybody is interested please let me know either on the thread or by PM or if anyone has any questions please let me know. My new job unfortunately doesnt allow access to blonde but will respond to everyone in the evenings - thank you for your time in reading this
(my original proposal for anyone who has a question is here in case it is answered on this thread:

Okay, so Matt PMs me telling me a $100 stake is now worth $33.24
Would love an explanation of this maths after sharkscoping.
What happened to the other $66.21 exactly?

original bankroll - $2000, 50% provided by myself, other $1000 dollars raised by selling 5% shares at $100 each
After first month bankroll stood at $2597.60, the $597.60 profit was distributed on the 1st Nov so for your 5% stake you received back $29.88
After second month bankroll stood at $1015.49, there was nothing distributed at the end of the month
After third month bankroll stood at $719.81, again no money distributed
After fourth month (and now current bankroll after no tourneys in fifth month) bankroll stands at $664.81
5% of current bankroll works out at $33.24
To be honest i cant vouch for how sharkscope works as i dont use it - i prefer OPR for mtt's on stars. I can post screenshots for each of the months listed on first post if necessary?

Sharkscope is very accurate in my experience, and you are down $11 during the staking period at 180man SNGs according to it. I'm willing to accept it might be slightly out, but not to the tune of $1300+..

Not that it matters compared to $11 James but the first months profit would be taken into account on Sharkscope, so around $700 odd difference instead of $1300 odd.

also sharkscope does not take in to account the $10 sats into the warm up and i did play a few $10 mtt's / horse tourneys when the 180 man sit and go's were taking a while to fill
I will sort out transfers to those who have requested their stake money back when i get home from work later - anyone who hasnt already PM'd me who would like their stake returned please let me know. I may even play a couple tonight if they look like they are going to fill up quick

Received dosh, thanks for that.
However I'm kinda surprised no-one but me has said anything about not getting almost their full stake back. Obv it's like $30 difference so money wise I couldn't care less, but on principles or whatever I can't help thinking this would have at least been mentioned by someone else usually.
From OP:
"I propose to build the bankroll playing nothing but 180 runner sit and go's"
"*** I will play no other tournaments on stars during this challenge and therefore my results will be easily traceable on OPR ***"
I really don't see why the losses that you incurred in non-180 man games should apply to the stake.
I'm sorry if I'm being a dick about this, mountain and a molehill and all that, but coupled with the fact that you disappeared for 3 months, and didn't really give backers a decent shot at recovering your losses through the stake, I thought a mini-rant was in order.
Nothing against you personally man, but I think I have a valid point.
