Not a bad wee article...explains that people are getting caught up in the "moneymaker effect" thinking that they can win the big one. Quotes one company stating that around 15% of people win...which is a reality check for a lot of players.

they expect to lose a lot of the random players who run out of the bonus money and their intial deposit and dont come back...thus they need to keep getting new punters in.

are you in the 15% or in the 85% fish market..

nice artice

Online poker is illegal in some countries, including the United States - didnt realise that

and
But even the poker companies admit that only 15% of players win, making Ms Foster one of a lucky minority.

at least its not like a bookies where the bookie wins most of the time, you know at least 1 person sitting around the table will be a winner and you have as much chance (theoretically) as everyone else -that has to be attractive.

That Ms Foster is our very own GINGER!!!

Nice article... 15% of alot of players is still alot tho! Remember alot of people don't play poker to win only, they play because they enjoy it! Some may treat it like a blast on roulette or a bet on the football. Not everyone is an educated gambler...

Ginger....whahey...

interesting points regarding the social player...i think that even as a social player its a big ask to continue to lose and keep playing socially...i`d personally get scunnered after a while

regarding the bookies i suppose its a mindset...if i`m betting a coupon then i reckon i know what i am about and a horse race i`m studying the form...if i sit down at a poker table its a blind bet as i dont know the level or quality at the table and i`d better be sure of my abilities.

85% of a big pool is a lot o fish...

Everybody wins, thats the beauty of it. They win enough to keep them playing, but on the long haul they lose.
