my appetite for greyhound racing is growing again. i have not been able to watch much since rodders died but am hoping to record and watch tonights wimbledon card  later.

although obviously a bit out of touch i spent a few hours last night studying tonights tv races and feel theres some great value on a cracking card.

7.40pm
cant see much past westmead carl trap 2 but at 4/7 its a watching race for me

8.00pm

think the 4 dog will struggle to lead 3 which he prob has to do to win this race trap 6 plassey has a beautiful draw and although 4 months ago i cant forget his win over this course and distance beating bandicoot tipoki in the derby heats in may. 5/1 looks value

8.15pm

a tough hurdle where in my opinion any of the dogs could win. im a lover of the 1 dog winkys don but although well drawn i dont think its in such great form as it was when last racing here. the 4 dog is running well but i think trap 6 barnfield chubby can start releasing its potential away from romford and win this. small stakes playing at 3/1 i think.

835pm

another excellent race. t3 should lead but i think most of the field will be queueing up to take it on in the later stages. my moneys on trap 5 brimardon star. he loves the track and if he can get flead 6 on the outside he should get first crack at the 3 dog.

8.50pm

the race of the night imo. 872 metres contested by some of the best 8 bend dogs in the country. wimbledon need commending for getting this race together.
the best stayer of all is in this race in flying winner but i still think it will be a few runs before he gets back to his best. his participation though gives some outstanding value to be had in his opposition. with this in mind my fancy is trap 6 vatican iona. nicely drawn and if can hold its position round the first 2 turns could go close. none will be staying stronger and im hoping  she will get up close home. 14/1 is a spot of value in a good race.

9.10pm

the nap of the night for me here. trap 1 jolly poacher. forget his trial, he obviously missed the break. his early pace is his forte and his form at oxford is exceptional. this is a fast animal and if getting on the bunny will go well. available at 4/1 thatl do for me!

9.25pm

a watching race rather than a betting race with trap 1 eye of the storm my pick at 13/8. in good form and well drawn.

9.45pm st leger final.

its trap 4  lorrys options for me. a dog that can win both ways. a clear run and he wins for me. 4/1 looks fair.

so my selections are

7.40 westmead carl 4/7
8.00 plassey 5/1
8.15 barnfield chubby 3/1
8.35 brimardon star 5/1 n.b
8.50 vatican iona 14/1
9.10 jolly poacher 4/1 nap
9.25 eye on the storm 13/8
9.45 lorrys options 4/1

good luck to anyone having a bet, post your picks here.

I still have both of my(heavily influenced by PM) ante-post bets live in the final of the St Leger.

Kinda Easy @ 25/1, and Westmead Wings ew @ 50/1 so a nice sweat for me this evening.

After the semis I was so impressed with Kinda Easy's run that I decided not to lay off as I'd rather be a player than a layer @ 3/1 and I only need WW to be in the first four to kop the place money which will hopefully be some kind of cushion.
