can i just ask what hand you are hoping to rep by raising again here?
it's what hand we was trying to rep that was confusing me. If he is trying to make a really thin value raise with like QJ then I dont think he can call for his tournament life. And he bets a 5 on the turn if he doesnt bet the flop. I have discounted Villain 1/2 because they were in check fold mode with overcards imo. What hands can villain 3 call our 3bet with?
sorry for bumping this, but i've recently started to get aggro on rivers when i think people are making thin value bets. This is a live "deepstack" game against a 40 y/o guy. anyone?
Really find this an interesting spot.
I mean it's just a 50 quid comp-albeit with a nice structure- and it sounds like you will have a huge edge overall in lots of small pots, and this might strike of FPS.
However there's so much variance in poker we should embrace every +ev spot. Def sounds like he could be making a lightish rr here.
However i'd agree that what you are repping here is very important.
Would you play a house (3's and 2's full) like this? Possibly although building the pot esp on turn seems more likely.
I think unless you've hit the wheel on the turn, which again you'd most likely bet, you are basically repping kq, which surely you'd flat the rse with and not thinly 3b.
I'm not sure how a bare 5 can be in yr range due to the lack of pot building and the poss drawy turn.
Thus if im villan 3 i'd most likely call off with kq and even jq here, although i'm not totally sure why he wld rr these hands on the river, seems a little thin.
Therefore maybe he has slowplayed a house or even a donkish played bare 5.
Against a non thinking oppo you cld perhaps 3b to like 10k or so i guess, but it's prob just too fps and wld only fold out certain queens.
I think the old line wait for a better spot wld be correct here.
