Mr Chompy

is the new monthly £250, 2 dayer on next Fri/Sat...a double points jobbie for the league?

Defo not imo, that would be elitist. Not unless it gets 100+ runners, which is rather unlikely.
Don't forget leaguers, any other tourney that gets 100 or more runners is a double pointer

RULE CLARIFICATION
All Festival events containing 70+ runners are double points
All other events containing 100+ runners are also double points

Calling Mr Galloway, Mr End and Mr Kay. Had a brief chat with Nina tonight about the long-term plans for Monday. Apparently there are fans of all three options, ie, £20 rebuy, £75 FO and £50+£50+£50.
The next step will apparently be to get a players' committee meeting sorted to discuss it. Sooner the better innit?
Tonight's structure was ideal imo; watch those Friday night numbers pick up again.

If they call a Players Forum Meeting, I'll be there, Diary permitting.

I am not a fan of Rebuys, (each to their own) but if that's what it takes to increase footfall, I'd support the decision. (Though not play the Events).

My personal choice would be for any Freezeout - a reasonably well-structured £75-er is tickity boo.

It sounds like the £20 rebuy idea is pretty dead in the water in truth. Don't think they'd want to run it particularly and there have definitely been more against the idea than for it.
Do they really need much variety? That card room could run a £75 FO every night of the week and it would always be well attended.
Also, I think Thomas should be on the committee. He plays more at the G than the rest of us put together, as shown by the league table, and he's expressed an interest in being part of it before innit?

Sure would.

As I understand it, it's "by invitation of Management" to serve on the Players Forum. If so, it's their perogative to invite him on, if they think he can make a constructive contribution.

league points cruelly waved under my nose and snatched away tonight Sad  With 12 left I ask how many places are being paid.  "9" I'm told.  With 10 left, we play hand-for-hand, and then the bubble bursts - happy days, league points in the bag!  After we get back from the quick break a printout of the prizes is on the table showing 7 paid.  When queried, we're told to ignore that, all 9 are being paid.  5 minutes later we're told the print-out is right, and it's only 7.  Chip leader isn't interested in savers for 8th and 9th and I promptly (well, 45 minutes later) donk out in 9th place.  So home at 3.30 with not even a league point, never mind a cash Sad

I left Simon G flying the flag for the blondeites - hope he takes it down!

Thanks Claire, couldn't do any better than 4th in the end.  At least you had a decent warm up for DTD, bring home the bacon.

It defies logic that they do not know how many are being paid......
