A few candidates from this league now for BPIL - cant argue with the records of the top 4 or 5 but for run of form over the last few months I award Alan the BPIL in title.

Hopefully that's sufficient bokkage for the time being

Thanks for the bok Glen.

Following that, I'm willling to bet that I won't score any more points this month.

Odds anyone?

Could be. He certainly knew how to best to snap a couple of large tits at the Circus Circus final table a few weeks ago...

pretty awesome.

also, good stories tighty, keep it up.

Must also recount a hand from last night towards the end, 5 handed, I have 45k, lucky just covers, theres 160k in play. He opens utg to 7.5k @ 1500/3000 no antes. Folded round, i look at the effective nuts 77. This is the effective nuts versus anyone over 40 normally because a) they normally fold better b) i race good c) iv been known to suckout now and again, if i get it in v KK ill just win the flip (iv called this the hybrid bet theorum, use it next time in luton tikay, great excuse for bad play). But mainly hes gona fold everything but QQ+ and AK. "Lucky" snaps my arm off with 88. I dont get there. Games changing, dangerous times at the G. WP lucky.

Enjoyed the game and banter last night Alex.

Here are my thoughts on that hand......

I think it was 1000/2000 and I opened to 6,500, so its 3.25 bb not 2.5; it was also the very first hand at a new level after a break.

I'd just won a good pot which saw us down to 5 handed and just before we started the hand, we had a quick chip count.  I had 44,500, you had 44,000, the shorty had 12,000 and the other two had c 30,000 each.  The key point being that you and I were the two chip leaders and we had a short stack on the table.

I by no means snap called, and took time to think it through.

My thinking after raising was that it gave you a great opportunity to put pressure on me, as I could be expected to be fairly tight and fold lots of hands in that spot, particularly given the existence of a short stack. I obviously considered folding, but I was playing to win, not ladder up, and I felt you could be pushing light in that spot.  I know you're very capable of doing that.

It was later than I'd expected the tournament to go on for, with a good amount of play left, so I rationalised that if I called and lost, it wouldn't  prolong the tournament, but if I called and won, I'd have a tournament winning stack and make the late night worthwhile. I also felt that the chip count, emphasising that we were the two chip leaders, could have subtly added to the psychological pressure, making you feel I would fold, and thereby making a call the correct move!

I'm glad I got it right (especially after messing up that AA hand!) and as you said, "Not bad for an old boy!”

Down to 4 handed, the short stack was refusing to play a hand, allowing himself to be blinded down from 6 to 5 to 4 and then 3+ blinds before he played a hand. A great spot arose with me on c 100k, Gavin and Adam on c 50k between them and then shorty sitting there with sub 10k.  I enjoyed being table bully for a while, once I'd worked out that if Gavin raised, I could reraise light and he'd have to fold!

I messed it up a bit at the end and was pleased to split 50/50 with Gavin after he'd knocked Adam out soon after shorty went.

It was definitely a good and well structured tourney last night and good fun too.

That reasoning is all bollocks. We all know you just wanted the 15 quid scalp for knocking alex out. Totally understandable tho. Wp.

Lol.

Nearly got grimmed on that one. He was half way across the room with bounty chips in hand, before the dealer realised and called him back to leave one behind.

I hadn't even noticed !

Last time I played the Tuesday night jobbie, George Michael was handing out poker advice to the table. Crikey!

chapter six

MDD does Pam Ayres

Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth,
And passed pocket nines beneath,
All the valets I chewed,
And their sweet sticky food,
Oh, I wish I'd looked after me teeth.

I wish I'd been that much more willin'
To 3-bet light and fist pump when fillin'
To pass and suck gobstoppers,
From respect to me choppers
And to play something else with me shillin'.

When I think of the Newbies I licked,
And the needless arguments I picked,
Myland's stories, big and little,
All those outdraws so brittle,
My conscience gets horribly pricked.

My Mother, she told me no end,
"If you got some gamble, you got a friend"
I was young then, and careless,
My cranium wasn't quite hairless,
I never had much in buy-ins to spend.

Oh I showed them the moves all right,
I flashed it about on the bubble at night,
But being called light by kids was bruisin'
Not much fun in losin'
Didn't seem worth the time... so I'd bite!

If I'd known I was playing the TAG way,
With folding, limping and old fashioned play,
Instead the murder of stacks
Cards going on their backs
I'd have thrown all me sherbet away.

So I play in the new Luton G,
Where the detritus of society flee,
These players do whine,
Hurting these molars of mine,
"Most of the time They can't call" I'll say, "and push with glee."

How I laughed at the Diddly Tiddly new boy,
As he hit from everywhere, not coy
But now comes the reckonin'
It's me they are beckonin'
Oh, he'll wish he'd learnt to fold, will our new toy.
