Ok... I know i don't like it but played the Wednesday donkfest as my eldest is moving up from brownies to guides on a Thursday and they don't finish until 9.15pm..

I figured theres a plan to this tourney and i stuck to it which worked out well. Play was generally awful, highlighted by people at 800 -1600 still limping into pots with 10 BB... one guy next to me completed his SB in an unopened pot with 3 BB behind and then folded on the flop when i bet..LOL

couple of times i saw people raise for half their stacks then fold to a shove... as TFOP would say..this is beyond TerriBad...

Got to the final table 2nd in chips with no real hands..highest pair 9's one Ak and 2x AQ...

Final table was a beauty...Shang hi Lil mr & Mrs Al Fayed and the rest pretty much rocks who'd got lucky to get there...pretty much ran over them from 1 orbit in..then mrs Al F limped sb into my BB at 3k 6k and i look at aces.. i jack it up another 12k and she calls...flop is J high raggy and she moves in for another 125K into a 36K pot !! Fucking funny as fuck, I called so quick i nearly gagged on my tongue as she turns over J9 o/s.... beyond horrendous..i hold and shes gone...

had half the chips but lost 2 big ones trying to shove mr Al F off a flopped set and double bluff barrelling mrs Gibraltar when i should have run for the hills when she called the flop.. we ended chopping 3 ways as time was marching on  and I won the flip hand for official 1st for a dagger to the heart of his lord chompiness..

Oh rub down of the century... are we ready ?...ok...

mid tourney.. i turn a straight on a 3 club board..bet it and get 2 callers..the board pairs and i decide not to value bet erring on the side of caution in case i get raised off what was already a nice pot..bit defensive i know..but thats what i decided.....

Avi is 2 to my left and says to me in his pigeon tongue... ' if i say something to you, you won't get upset ? ' i chuckle and assure him his in no bodily danger...
he looks me in the eye and says 'Ur shit..u r.. y u not bet with your straight  '  i rolled up to be told that by Avi is fantastic..if most of the other regs had said it to me i'd have agreed..but Avi...please my soul is crushed....LOL

I agree with Avi, you should be value betting this every time against these donks. Uber-gay checkage.

Mrs Al Fayed is a live one

My starting table last night gave me the interesting challenge of being on the direct right of Mr Phan, Hamid Jalfrezi and Mrs Al Fayed, before the table settled down round the back to Jim McBride and Dick Lynch

I knew steal raising from late position into those three was going to be fun but I could not resist it a couple of times, an experience akin to getting one's testicles mangled in a golf ball cleaner I should imagine as they would hit bottom pair and not let go even if the board was paired, flushing, straightening and four coloured just for effect. Sadly though I could not hit a barn door from a yard out.

I had just decided to try a new tactic, and complimented Mrs Al Fayed on her new "Dolores from The Cranberries" haircut which worked well alongside the Burberry effect high heels and half an alligator she was wearing,

She flashed her eyelids, looked coquettish at the compliment and I thought that next time round I would raise again and this time she would let me be and pass her blind.

Wonder of wonders I found AQ off in the cut off. Phan called, Jalfrezi called and Mrs A, eyelids still fluttering, had to call in the bb

Flop Q-J-4 rainbow, checked to me I bet. Only Mrs A calls but at least we've got through two lunatics

turn 5, still a rainbow board. Check, bet, call.

Mrs A can have anything here. Usually a four.

River 8. She checks again, I turn my hand over, having not a clue whether I would rather be at home watching Spooks or value betting here ....she flips.....

Aces.

Jim McBride chuckles like a Home Counties Hyena while Dickie Lynch in seat 10 snorts with such enthuiasm I think the new dealer will probably forevermore stick to roulette.

I’ve often recommended the cash games at The Empire, but last night I sat on the wildest table ever. Three example hands will show what I mean.

On a £1 /  £2 table, there were several large stacks, two of which were around £1,500.  We’ll call them donk one and donk two.

Prior to sitting down I’d been standing behind donk 1 observing some very strange plays (having seen his cards). When folding, he’d often claim to have laid down a bigger hand than he actually had. He’d luck boxed a few big wins but I think he wanted to table to see him as better than he really was. Donk 2 had made a couple of over bet shoves, uncalled, and both times claimed to have had 2 pairs (e.g. on a J 7 4 board).

Hand One

Donk 1 raises to £15, is reraised to £45 by Johnny (a solid regular. Who doesn’t put chips in lightly) and he calls. On a flop of 10 10 3 (2 clubs), he checks, Johnny bets £55 and donk 1 reraises to £200, effectively putting Johnny all in. Johnny calls. Cards are not turned over but the turn is and the river a 5. Johnny turns over pocket aces (including ). Donk 1 says, “You’re not going to like this” and shows 6 7 for the runner runner straight. When challenged on his play, he claimed that his flop bet was made to get Johnny to lay his hand down. He didn’t really explain his pre flop call though!  Johnny looked sick but took it well, claiming that it was the worst bad beat he’d ever suffered.

Hand Two

Tight, nervous looking player open raises in early position, donk 2 re raises to £125, everyone else folds and original raiser calls.  Flop is J 5 3. Original raiser checks, donk 2 announces all in. He has a big stack and has original raiser covered, but this is still effectively a £650 bet into a £250 pot. Original raiser insta calls and shows pocket jacks, for top set. This holds and he wins a big pot. Donk 2 claims to have had ace ten. He made a ridiculous bet that could only get called by a hand that beats him!

Hand Three

I don’t recall the preflop action but the same two players see a flop of A X X (2 diamonds) and both check. On a diamond turn card, first player checks and donk 2 announces all in. This time it’s probably c £700 and again the first player calls him. “Do you have a flush?” asks donk 2. “Yes” says first player as his baby flush holds and he takes c £1500 off donk 2 in two hands (at £1 / £2 !!). Donk 2 bemoans his luck and leaves the table to reload.

Sadly I had to leave soon after (just £3 up!), but if ever there was a table I wanted to stay at, this was it!

15 points safely negotiated when three handed tonight, though i didn't go on to win it. All the rocks got lucky and made the final for the second night running but i managed to steam roller them on the final without actually knocking any of them out. Tighty has really come on leaps & bounds and snati was just terribad shoving the turn with the nuts and getting called. When will he learn? Not an Al-fayed, Avi or Jalfrezi to be seen tonight. Oh and well played Chistopher Poultonsoontoberenamednrbristol.
