This just in on the Lucky Hotline...

Tourney full at 30. No Donks. But loads of donks. Cowboy shirt yet to unleash its full power. Cold outside.

This thread just gets better & better.

2009 TOTY imo.

I deffo think that we could write a bloody funny book about this thread Tikay.
Nobody else would buy it, but we'd have a right larf reading it imo.
Tighty could write it - extracting the best parts of the thread - and Boris could be the chief quality reviewer.
Let's do it for the kidz....

The snow it did keep away the lightweights but not the hardy-perennial MDD, who cares not what the weather's like, nor what the opposition may bring.
Sleet, rain or shine, if he gets an ace, he's all in. Tis no wonder he's so popular in the Fantasy Poker, despite such a prohibitive price tag.
“Bah humbug!” did say Dick the Grinch to Mrs Grinch. “Turn the heating down, I’m going to the G.”
And so it came to pass that MDD did finish second, as the three wise men, Lionel, Thomas Bernard and John Ruppin did bear their gifts of weak suited connectors and queen-jack off.
No league scorers though unf, with cowboy-shirted leap and bounder Lucky more Kenny Rogered than Kenny Rogers.

Good dodge Sir Donkeys.

Five years ago I'd have gone despite the weather warning, petulant young scamp that I was. Far more sensible now though.

Wonder if they ended up sat around a pretend camp fire singing carols until the wee small hours...

I would have loved to be stuck in the casino all night! I sincerely hope that some kind of mega deepstacked 5p10p action developed...

We need more info on a casino lock in -

1. Did they chuck them out at 6am due to gaming commission laws?
2. Did the kitchen stay open to feed the unfortunates?
3. Were people sleeping on the tables.
4. Were blankets handed out to keep them warm.
5. Did Pina the cleaner keep going past every 5 mins wearing her Santa hat and asking if they were ok.
6. Is tonights game a whiteout?

More info please!

Such defeatists, no wonder this country's going to the dogs     .......

Leaving the G at 00.15    ....     pah, only a mere dusting of snow on the road (well    ....     6 to 8 inches, actually).

Cleverly, I went down an empty Park St to go the 'long way' round to the M1 as - Jct10 having the link to the airport - this route would be cleared at all costs by Greg the Gritter Man!

I contemptuously breezed through the adverse conditions to reach the linking trunk road two miles away in only one and three-quarter hours.

There I was greeted by some sort of Arctic phuqqin hill climb with hundreds of useless car drivers failing miserably.

Stranded, phuqqin freezing and low on fuel!

Quickly, Loofah's Special Poker Service's Arctic Warfare training kicked in    ....        this was now a battle for survival!

A quick appraisal of the rapidly deteriorating situation and I opted for the 'Lorraine Chase Scenario' from the highly regarded book The Tart of Survival     ....      and turned left!

I spent the next three hours quaffing huge cups of hot chocolate and munching reassuringly expensive rolls chatting to the beleagured passengers at Luton Airport - who seemed obsessed with gazing at some sort of teletext on the TVs spread around the place (surely BAA could have put on a re-run of I'm a Celebrity Factoryworker and I'm Gonna Dance My Way Out of Here for these poor souls).

I really think that the stranded Romanian pickpockets, and Kosher Rastafarians, drew some comfort from my explaining that, "I'd be home in a couple of hours, once the ploughs and gritters have made my journey home nice and safe".

Suitably refreshed I bade farewell to my new glum chums and 'whistled' back down the M1 to be home in bed by 4.30 am.

Shame on you Lucky     ...............

A casino lock in - all going well til MDD starts talking about strip poker with myself and Raj being the 'entertainment'
[   ]  This happend!

Secure last cash seat - happy days
[ x ]  Alan McBink got a night pass
[ x ]  Aforementioned McBink sure didn't hit one of his outers on the river in a 3-way all in pot £250+ that I was ahead on all the way til then
[ x ]  I didn't need to reload

Why is it I can stay out all night til kick out and not feel tired YET when I have to stay I can't stop yawning.  Decided to try and drive home (only so I can tick off stupidely driving in bad snow conditions on my list of things to do before I die list) ... 25 minutes later after I had dug my car out and watched from the sidelines as two men try and push a stuck car out of the car park I start the engine and set off - slowly.   On the advice of the taxi men (via Carmel -thank you my sweet), I gingerly head up off towards London Road - now this advice did fill me with trepidition as its a fecking hill FFS!

A few (well lots) of sliding about later, avoiding the the car that stalled (2nd gear FTW) that was sliding back down the hill towards me and miracously managing to get to the M1 I thought excellent, the worst is over.  The M1 was a nightmare, winds and heavy snow fall combined with my nose against the windscreen and my arse cheeks clenched harder than I ever thought possible is not a good combination I have discovered - it does not help when the lights on the M1 suddenly decide to go out!

Quiz time - Who built a snowman in the car park:
