Is This A Level?

Saw this story elsewhere and am struggling to actually believe it's true.

Surely no prosecutor could see any public interest in proceeding with this case?

Yes; mostly the stupidness of having strict liability offences in law. Then again, I believe this has been on the books since 1968, so can't blame bonkers nulabor for this one for once (they are fond of strict liability, it makes it cheaper to prosecute someone). The sentencing will be interesting - that's when we'll find out about weirdness of this one I suspect.
